User talk:Okoa
Welcome
Welcome to Bulbapedia, Okoa!
As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:
- For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
- Read over the style primer before making your edits. It is a basic outline of Bulbapedia style. For a more in-depth set of rules, see the manual of style.
- Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
- The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
- The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
- The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
- On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
- The use of link templates is official policy.
- If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
- A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
- For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
- Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. To activate your account at the Archives and Bulbanews, please login there using the same username and password you use here on Bulbapedia.
- If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Okoa/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
- Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
- A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem can be found here.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here! --DCM 03:59, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
Roulette Goddess Dahlia
In your edits after my edits, you incorrectly changed the generation of the template. I wrote a rough summary guide for the templates which can be found here. I would suggest reading over it. Dahlia uses the Generation IV templates, which include the Physical/Special/Status split information. Gywall(Talk) 10:53, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I just noticed that. Sorry about that. I'll use that template from now on for Generation IV trainers. Okoa 19:10, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Party Time!
youve been doing lots of these party templates, and thats awesome. i presume youve gotten it down to a pattern, but, if i may help, you can re-organize the code without harming it and its easier to read. i did it to the RS Sidney. if you click edit, it shows you the formatted code. meanwhile, im not sure if youre just finding random pages with the old table on it, but, if it helps, you can find all of it right here. you dont have to do the code my way, and you dont have to use that page, but, just figured id show you some tricks (if thats what one would call them). -- MAGNEDETH 02:22, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, I see how you mean. Thanks for the tip! Might take me some time to get used to now that I'm all used to the cluttered mess from before. XD Okoa 02:25, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- it will help us to make the templates, and it will also help any future edits, for whatever reason. also, we do use the Emerald animations, they are ".gif" -- MAGNEDETH 02:26, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, you use the animated ones for Generation III? I see. I'm still kinda new to this, so I appreciate all these suggestions. Okoa 02:28, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- we do indeed, and no prob. as i said, i see you do alot of these so, id like to make it easier for you. as for help/suggestions, if you need anything else, all you gotta do is ask. btw, some of the pages on that list are in need of more than just the simple party template, like this one and this one so, just ignore them for now. -- MAGNEDETH 02:35, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Schweet. Thanks again! Okoa 02:56, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

BLAMMO!! this should make it a bit easier to pin-point pages in need. just remember to remove the tag after youre done updating the page. -- MAGNEDETH 22:00, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, awesome! This'll really help out! Although I have a question. On Bertha's D/P template, it keeps saying her Hippowdon is Rock-type, even though I've continuously put it in as Ground-type. Why is it doing that? Okoa 02:41, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
- it was a blip in the template. its been taken care of. -- MAGNEDETH 04:59, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks. That seems to happen only to Generation IV trainers, for some reason. Cheryl's Blissey is the same way. Really odd. Okoa 05:01, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
- Great that you're helping...however, wouldn't it be better if you used this template: {{PartyHeader}}? ht14 04:12, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I think the new party template is much, much more detailed. I kinda like it better, honestly. Okoa 04:17, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
- You mean the one you're changing to? ht14 04:45, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah. I did use the {{PartyHeader}} for a while, until the current one was revealed. I really liked it, so I volunteered to help out as much as I could. I just think the new one's so much more helpful and informative. Okoa 04:49, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Just a question
When you update the templates to the new party templates, why do you do it by sections insetad of by all of the page? Chocolate 15:39, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
- Heh. To be honest, I guess I don't really have a good reason. Probably out of sheer habit, but I like to do it by section when I don't have time to do the whole thing. Probably crowds up the page history list something awful, huh? Okoa 01:51, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Congratulations!

- CONGRATULATIONS!DCM((曲奇饼妖怪Spy on My Edits))
Please
Slow down on editing the User:
namespace. There are only three userspace edits allowed per day, and you have gone over the limit. Editing your userpage too much will lead to it being locked again. Instead of making multiple small edits, why not instead use the preview button (Alt + Shift + P) to check your edits before saving the page? Thank you. --Force Fire talk 07:13, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry. I didn't know that. I'm done anyway, so no more today. :) Okoa 07:15, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
- i was meandering around, and it turns out you did NOT go over the edit limit. the limit is 3, and you did 3. so, if you do one more, then you get the template, but, in the meantime, ignore this. -- MAGNEDETH 02:33, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
- OK, cool. Well, now I know for future reference. Thanks. Okoa 03:00, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Project Games
Hi Okoa! I noticed that you have been awarded the Golden Mew Award for outstanding service to the articles on the Pokémon games. I therefore request you to join the Project Games and lend us a helping hand in improving the articles on the games. Your help would be deeply appreciated. Thank you.--Sher-e-Bengal- 10:46, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Done and done. Thanks! I will be certain to do whatever I can to help. Okoa 05:52, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
