Movie catalogue
Okay, so I started the Indigo League Region 1 English catalogue. I left it in my userspace since it's partially incomplete, but you're welcome to add to it :) I just need to scan all the covers I have in my personal collection, haha. I was thinking at the bottom of that page we should catalogue the Indigo League boxed sets as well - I just haven't decided how to format them yet. So let me know what you think!! (omg if you think it's garbage pls recycle as much of my code as you can cuz this took me foreverrrrr lol) --ZestyCactus 03:26, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
- Haha, the reason i went with the table colours i did was i was going for the red/green color scheme (cuz its Generation I ^^') cuz a lot of manga tables and stuff i colour-code to the generation's colours (see Mysterious Mew for example)
- and yeah we can elaborate more on the VIZ Media/Pioneer partnership a little more for the finished article, i think Advanced Generation was when VIZ started doing it themselves. i didn't see much of a point in separate pages for each tape - that was sorta why i wanted a list lol because most of the info in separate pages would be kinda repetitive. i'm cool with adding the ISBN information, though, in addition to the catalogue numbers; since we usually include that for books/manga. anyway whether we do it or not i'd prefer to leave that for now and focus on getting the lists beautiful and perfect~ so yeah you're welcome to start uploading your scans whenever's good for you (you can edit my page too if you like haha)
- anyway so i think right now we should finish up the Indigo League article, so we have a model to base the other series' articles on. let me know if you have any other questions/ideas/concerns/etc :) --ZestyCactus 03:44, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- i also gotta figure out how i want the boxed sets organised. because i would like to show individual disc art as well as box cover art... but that doesn't fit in my table as nicely. i have a few ideas though so i will let you know when i put something together. :D --ZestyCactus 03:48, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- Ahh... Gotcha, gotcha. I'd like to do individual discs/tapes too, but baby steps are important. Lists, ho! And as for the color thingy, I totally get it now. Maybe match it with the HEX values on the anime episode list to keep it consistent, though? Another thing worth listing that came to me might be the style of case. Some are thinpack DVDs, cardboard sleeve VHS, clamshell VHS, cardboard snap-cover DVD, or whatever. Some have weird case colors too, like the original Indigo discs having white cases, Battle Frontier being clear, and the Johto League Champions being Gold and Silver. Maybe save for future individual pages?
- I dug out my own VHS and noticed a couple of mine are in better shape than yours, so shall I scan those for replacement anyway? All of mine are pretty much mint on the cover shot except for Charizard!! and ROUND ONE! which both have creases. Here's what I got: The Sisters of Cerulean City, Poke-Friends, Thunder Shock!, Primeape Problems, Fashion Victims, Water Blast!, Our Hero Meowth, Hang Ten Pikachu, Show Time!, and the Clamshell edition of the 2000 movie. - Ok definitely scan the ones we don't have. I was going to scan Pokémon 2000 when i got to the movies so for that one it's whatever's good for you. Poké-Friends and Fashion Victims you could probably re-scan, those are the most rough-looking i think. ^^' style of case might be interesting if i can see much of a variance - but i dont think each format's release has more than one style (e.g. The Power of One only seems to be clamshell VHS, not sleeved) though it could be fun to index which ones are clamshelled, which ones are sleeves, etc. ya cause i had a Johto one in a golden case. :D --ZestyCactus 21:00, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- All righty, I'll start adding stuff this week. I'll mimic the naming for the original Indigo League stuff, but what should I do for the volumes without names? I could just do a running tab at the bottom of this page of what I call the set so you can link to the images. Probably like DP_Set1_01_DVD, Sinnoh_League_Victors_Set1_DVD, and Battle_Frontier_Set2_01_DVD.
- The only ones that really vary in style (that I'm aware of) are the yellow-sleeved Indigo League tapes, DVD movies, and both VHS and DVD for Johto Journeys and Johto League Champions. The Johto volumes were either gold or silver. Unfortunately, I don't have any of Johto Journeys at all... And I think my JLC DVDs were given new cases because only volume 2 is gold (bought 'em used -except for that one). So I can't say which is what color or anything, but they're pretty unique when all intact. Maybe just mention the case type in the blurb for each listing's page? -And I know I've seen a slipcover edition of 2000, despite what the internet is telling me. Apparently I should have bought the sucker at the thrift store for the novelty of it. Maybe it was just a promo viewing copy for a rental store or something... Those copies are weird, sometimes. I guess I shouldn't mention it since it ceases to exist. XD Triltaison 19:29, 24 April 2012 (UTC)Triltaison
- As an FYI, I've added cover scans for Advanced, Orange Islands, Masterquest, and Johto League Champions with their catalog numbers in file descriptions. Didn't up the covers for the Masterquest Boxes since I wasn't sure what to name them yet. Also added my VHS to the Indigo list in your userspace, and the two DVDs I own of the old release. I'll add Advanced Challenge and Battle later, but I won't do the non-named volumes until you confirm the best way to name the files. Same for the movies.
- -And as a random note, I was majorly shocked to see how much Masterquest and JLC DVDs are going for on Amazon and eBay now. Apparently it's a good thing I bought MQ Set 2 for $35 back when it came out since it's $250 now. o.O; Triltaison 07:29, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Triltaison
