Gremlin?
Exaclty what about this Pokémon is at all similar to a gremlin? Fyrmer 06:24, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- Body structure...Ph34r4everTalk page 06:26, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
If you say so....I've never heard of a gremlin who lives in caves and eats gemstones....Or has luminous crystals for eyes. I'd say its behaviour is a bit closer to a goblin than a gremlin. Fyrmer 06:41, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- Well, we aren't very smart (at least, I'm not very smart). Might want an admin to explain. Ph34r4everTalk page 06:43, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
What does a gremlin look like? Fyrmer 02:25, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- Gremlin on Wikipedia has a picture or two. It's remarkably similar in look, although the original legend of Gremlins has nothing to do with caves or gems or anything of the sort.
- Goblin is similar; notice that Goblin is quite a wide-reaching archetype, and Gremlins, Imps, Kobolds, are all generally related to (or derived from) Goblins.
- That aside, I'd say Sableye is based off an Imp. Imps are generally lively and mischievous, much like how Sableye acts. A quote from Wikipedia: "Some accounts of imps treat them as capable of being turned to good, because they are so desperately lonely they would do almost anything—even commit good deeds—to have a committed friend; however, it is regarded as almost impossible for any imp to fully forsake its "impish" ways." Lonely eh? That also sounds very much like Sableye.
- I'll change the article to Imp, because I think it sounds a lot closer then Gremlin; any objections, you all know how to undo. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 01:17, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
egg cycle
I don't know the number of egg cycles for Sableye, but the number of steps is actually 8012. I just hatched one on Platinum and used the step counter. Just throwing it out there - unsigned comment from Zjoe0 (talk • contribs)
- We use the number of steps directly extracted from the game, not out of tests hatched in the game... there's extra factors to how long an egg hatches when playing the game itself, but there's base data for it and it's as listed in the article. →Tinā ♫★ 21:38, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Anime pokedex entries very minor. When it says the shadow Pokemon, can you make it the Darkness Pokemon? Please and thank you. Littlmiget123 23:44, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Trivia
though it is stated shiny sableye have an emerald on its chest, if you look carefully on its ordinary genIII backsprite and in the anime, it has a ruby, sapphire AND an emerald on its back. i think this needs adding--Ben7229 17:22, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- The third gem on its back is not an emerald; if you look at the Gen IV sprites, the bottom two gems are the same color, for both the normal and shiny sprites. This means they are both sapphires on the normal sprite. (For the shiny sprite, since those gems are yellow, I'd assume topaz or some similar colored gemstone.) --Phantom♫Junkie 17:34, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
Trivia
"Since Sableye is one of the five Pokémon that do not have a weakness" shouldn't this be one of two Pokemon ? Stephen Keane 19:52, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Sprite is too big
The Emerald non-shiny sprite for Sableye is stretched and gigantic compared to the others. FIX PLZ
Pokemon nomekop (talk) 18:49, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- Just moved your signature closer to your post. Anyway, I've noticed that too. The Emerald front sprite (non-Shiny) is unnecessarily big. I don't know who made it that way, or why, but it just looks so out-of-place. Is there anything anyone can do? PokeMaster99999 (talk) 13:47, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
Is it really worth noting that Sableye and Spiritomb had no weakness in the past but no longer do?
I mean think about it. On the Floatzel page it doesn't say that it used to be the fastest water-type Pokémon and no longer is. On Mewtwo's page it doesn't say it had the highest special attack in the first generation but no longer does, (I mean the regular form, not the mega evolutions) I could go on and on.
It is useful trivia I will admit that. But I don't see how that's more noteworthy than the things I just mentioned. Blaze The Movie Fan (talk) 03:03, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
- I agree and have tried to remove it in the past, but was undone with the justification that it was "important before Fairy". I don't see the point of that, but I didn't feel like arguing. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 03:25, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
- Likely because prior to Fairy, both Pokémon were the only Pokémon who could not take damage due to a weakness. All Pokémon have stats at which they are good at, but only two Pokémon have ever had no weaknesses. (In addition, your example on Floatzel would require the trivia point for 18 different Pokémon for just Speed alone; with all of the stats it would take 108 different trivia points across the wiki to note. For the example on Mewtwo, it would require one trivia point per stat in each generation leading to up to 36 points, not including ties between Pokémon. The only way for a weakness to change across Generations is only if Game Freak alters the typing of a Pokémon or if they alter the Damage Chart.) --Super goku (talk) 04:53, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
- Alright, I am willing to admit, those are good points. Blaze The Movie Fan (talk) 15:14, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

Mega Sableye
Now that the official trailer for it on the Pokemon Channel has been released on Youtube I think it is time to lockdown the Sableye page in the case that it's Mega Stone has not been confirmed yet. -Tyler53841 (talk) 21:08, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
- its locked now. not by me..... Superbobbobbob3 (talk) 22:43, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
- Isn't a video on the official YouTube channel confirmation enough? --JoeIsCool (talk) 02:07, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
- Um, yes? What are you talking about? The page has been protected for days and it already mentions Mega Sableye. Ataro (talk) 02:46, 14 June 2014 (UTC)

A mistake in Sableye's trivia section.
In Sableye's trivia section, it says that Sableye and Mawile are the only Pokémon that can learn Metal Burst by breeding. That's no longer true as of Generation VI for Rhyhorn can now learn Metal Burst by breeding. Can someone who has access to editing this page please fix this? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 04:05, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
