"Forfeit half your cash"

The statement that you will forfeit half your cash if you lose may not be entirely correct. I was playing Leaf Green earlier today and beat Lorelei with 0 cash, leaving with me with a total of 5400. However, Bruno then took all of my money (5400), leaving me with 0 again. Additionally, before I have had a situation where Bruno has taken all my cash, despite the fact that I have had a little more than 5400 when starting the battle with him. Certain games have changed the mechanic where the lost cash is a set total instead of a fraction. Trust me, there are times where I intentionally blow as much cash as possible in XD so that I can abuse gender-setting against foes with lots of shadows (I once faced Ardos for the first time with just $7 to my name). --Shiningpikablu252 22:35, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Wild Pokemon

I vaguely recall reading that wild Pokemon don't battle for reasons other than territory, food, and mating. Is there any reference in the games, anime, or manga, for this? Redstar 03:41, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Japanese kana

At the top of the page, the kana for "Pokémon Kettou" just says "Pokémon". I'd do it myself but I don't know which Japanese alphabet is needed. Flicky1991 09:40, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Link battling

I want to find a way to merge link battling onto the page. I've created a prototype here, but it still needs work. Can I get some input? Thanks! --rockersk08 16:52, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Trivia

Should it be noted that the maximum Pokémon allowed to be in the battle at a time from one side has increased by 1 in every odd generation? Generation I introduced 1 on 1 (standard battles), Generation III introduced 2 on 2 (double battles), and now Generation V introduced three on three (triple battles). I myself would do this, but I guess the page is protected or something. Pokered4000 22:31, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Volleyball is a conception to the rotation battle.

Testimony by developer. http://weekly.ascii.jp/elem/000/000/024/24648/

Information is put with the Talk because there is no item of the rotation battle. Sawamular101 16:39, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

"Call" in Colosseum

In Pokemon Colosseum, there's another option, "Call", instead of "Run" (not sure about XD). It wakes up a pokemon, and returns a shadow pokemon in Hyper Mode to normal condition. Seem to have an increased priority. Should it be mentioned in the article? Kelenius (talk) 14:45, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

There already is a mention of this in the article. It's under "Run". (fiery]~~BlazingFist~~[fast) 15:34, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't notice that. Maybe there should be a separate section for it, or a sub-section? I think phrases that are shown when the call is used could be added. Kelenius (talk) 18:46, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, that could be an idea. I'm not sure though, I think you should ask an admin first if you can add it. (fiery]~~BlazingFist~~[fast) 19:23, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Sky Battle

According to http://pokemonxy.com/, a new type of battle called a Sky Battle is to be added in X and Y. Only Pokemon that can fly (like Pidgey) are allowed. Can this be added in variants, or should it wait until the games come out? Pikachu Bros. (talk) 18:16, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

I say wait. --Reliジーランス? 18:25, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Okey dokey. Pikachu Bros. (talk) 18:30, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Project Games notice

Could a member of the staff remove the notice due to battles occurring across the whole series instead of just in the games. --Super goku (talk) 19:27, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

Occasional Messages from Greninja

Ok, so After Gen II, I pretty much fell out of the games but stayed with the Anime, so pardon me if I am not knowledgeable about the games.

So I'm playing Pokémon Y, 40 hours or so in, 215 Pokémon and I think 4 badges. Well something has been catching my eye when I use Greninja. I know the typical message goes "Greninja is waiting for Yami's decision" However, every now and then I get a different message. Usually I don't see them until they disappear but others I've managed to skim. I know one speaks about Greninja smelling a familiar scent or something, another that Greninja wants to take time and play with me or the opponent (couldn't read the entire message it went by so fast, I was in a horde with Mime Jr.) and it seems to only be with Greninja. I haven't really caught this with any of my other Pokémon. Is this normal, is this something new or has it been in place in previous games? Again, I fell out of the games back in Highschool so I haven't played anything outside of the old GB/GBC and N64 games. Yamitora1 (talk) 06:05, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

BTW, I asked here because I saw nothing in the article about this unless i missed it. Yamitora1 (talk) 06:12, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
You can get special messages when using Pokémon with a high Affection in Pokémon-Amie. --SnorlaxMonster 06:26, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

Fortune Battle

I don't think it should be here since the battles themselves have exactly the same mechanics as regular Single/Double Battles. For the same reason, the Battle Palace and Arena battles should be listed.--Den Zen 10:07, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

So can we remove it because it's exactly the same as Single Battle and Double Battle. --Cinday123 (Talk) 10:26, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Player-versus-player battles

I think the "in the games" section should have a sub-section listing all the PVP formats (local battles, Battle Spots, etc.) through the generations, the rules for each format, and how to access each format. If we don't need it here because this list is already on Bulbapedia, then where is it? sumwun (talk) 04:01, 20 August 2017 (UTC)
