Multitype
Apparently Multitype overrides the secondary effect. (Protean doesn't do anything special, as it won't activate on failure and activates before the move is used). Eridanus (talk) 13:16, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
- The question is whether Arceus can use Burn Up twice, and/or whether it will not lose its Fire type. The video only confirms that its sprite will not change. Nescientist (talk) 14:13, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
If you use Forests's Curse on a pure Fire-type that used Burn Up...
...does it become Typeless/Grass or pure Grass? Dinosauramiable (talk) 01:31, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Can't say from experience, but I would say that if it is given the Grass type, it's no longer considered typeless, and thus would become pure Grass. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talk • contribs) 01:54, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Someone should test that. Dinosauramiable (talk) 00:02, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
- Since there is no "typeless" type, your question doesn't really make sense to me. How would that hypothetical other person test it? Where would it make a difference? (And if you're concerned about Revelation Dance, it's detailed at that page.) Nescientist (talk) 15:46, 14 June 2018 (UTC)

Wonder Guard
So if you Skill Swapped Wonder Guard onto a Pokemon that has used Burn Up, would it take no direct damage? MegaHotFiring (talk) 05:30, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- Per Skill Swap:
- Skill Swap fails if either Pokémon has the Ability Wonder Guard (...) Nescientist (talk) 11:22, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
