Instead of a number or letter, these cards are numbered ##/PLAY (now numbered ##/PPP (see below)). This collection contains some of today's rarest playable Pokémon cards. To obtain these cards, Japanese players have to subscribe the Pokémon Players Club and attend weekly tournaments in effort to gain EXP (Experience) Points. The point award scheme is detailed in the table below: -

Some cards are given upon subscription, through the course of the tournament, in special packs or by gaining a required amount of EXP Points. The last cards obtained in this fashion before the start of the new club were the Eeveelutions File:Shiningsymbol.gif, which were extremely difficult to obtain. Collectors can expect to pay $300+ for each of these cards.

The 2007 Season saw a welcome return of the Pokémon Players Club in Japan. The points system was slightly adjusted, with 100 EXP Points awarded for attending a session, instead of the previous 50. The suffix also changed from PLAY to PPP, likely standing for Pokémon Players Promo. The red "P" remained for the collection symbol.
The new club saw the release of the first Generation IV Players promotional cards.
