Ann's Dewott (Japanese: アンのフタチマル Ann's Futachimaru) is Ann's first known Pokémon, given to her as a Oshawott at Indigo Academy. It is often seen outside their Poké Ball.
History
Dewott first debuted in The Pendant That Starts It All (Part One), as a Oshawott, when Ann received it as her first partner Pokémon from Indigo Academy. Oshawott quickly got along with its new trainer jumping onto her arms when it was called out of its Pokéball, later at night Oshawott slept with Ann while watching a Nidothing video about What a Pokémon Trainer is. In the next day it's battle debut against Liko's Sprigatito, it immediately listened to Ann's instructions and use Water Gun, jumping in front of her, which led to Sprigatito getting hit, and the battle was called off. After a few days, Oshawott went home with Ann for a school break.
In For Sure! 'Cause Sprigatito's with Me!, Oshawott was seen with Ann at school at the end of the episode, hearing stories about Liko's adventures.
In The Lonely Hatenna, it was revealed during a video call with Liko, that Oshawott gotten a new teammate, a Kantonian Sandshrew where its was shown to be fondly attached to its new partner. Afterwards Roy called Liko to battle, it was seen waving bye to Liko.
In HZ046, it was revealed that Oshawott had evolved into a Dewott and traveled with Ann to the Paldea region as she is an exchange student at Naranja Academy, enrolled in the Terastal Training program, where it met Floragato and they had their first official battle with Dendra as referee. Floragato used Magical Leaf and Dewott used Water Pulse, where both of their moves collided. Afterward Dewott used its Razor Shell, where Floragato dodged and jumped away from Dewott's attacks, Floragato used Quick Attack while Dewott threw both of its scalchops, as Dewott got hit by Quick Attack, one of its scalchops ricocheted, hitting Floragato's back causing her to be visibly stunned. Taking the opportunity, Dewott used Aerial Ace, hitting Floragato effectively. With Floragato actively using her bud, Dewott was unable to use Razor Shell and got hit by Magical Leaf causing Dewott fainting and Liko and Floragato taking the victory.
Personality and characteristics
Dewott is shown to be friendly and affectionate to those it meets, as when it first met Ann, where it welcomed her hug, and as shown in The Lonely Hatenna, where Ann captured Sandshrew, it was the result of being affectionate to its new partner as an Oshawott. Dewott is shown to be similar to its trainer in many ways, as both are shown to be very passionate about Pokémon battle, and it evolved into a Dewott as a result of its involvement in Pokémon battles.
