Rodney

Rodney (Japanese: ユキヤ Yukiya) is a character of the day who appeared in The Journalist from Another Region!.

Rodney was first seen when Ash was running to a food stand. Both Trainers bumped into each other, and Rodney mocked Ash with his belief that he would win the Pokémon Sumo Tournament. This caused a rivalry between the two Trainers. During the tournament, Rodney went up against Meowth, who was disguised as a Golem. Rodney was not fooled by the disguise, however, and easily defeated Team Rocket, sending them blasting off in the process. Afterwards, Rodney managed to get through the tournament and made it to the final round, where he faced off against Ash. He lost after Pignite defeated his Golurk. Even though Ash won, Rodney was given a split apple from Ash, similar to what a Beartic and an Ursaring of Harvest Island folklore had done.

Pokémon

Golurk
Rodney's Golurk

Golurk is Rodney's only Pokémon. It was first seen when it was walking by Ash and his friends where they noticed its enormous size. During the Pokémon Sumo Tournament, it went up against Meowth, in the disguise of a Golem. Its Trainer was not fooled by this and Golurk easily defeated Meowth, sending Team Rocket blasting off. Golurk managed to get through the tournament and made it to the final round where it faced Ash and Pignite. As Pignite kept dodging Golurk's movements, it lost when Pignite held it by the hand and threw it on the ground, causing Rodney and Golurk to lose.

None of Golurk's moves are known.
