History
Rika first appeared in HZ046. Rika first appeared when she was introduced by Nemona to Liko, Roy, and Dot. During the brief meeting, Rika commented that she expected great things from Liko as Indigo Academy's representative. Later, she watched Liko's battle against Ann and noticed great potential in her.
In HZ055, Rika was battling students of Naranja Academy as part of the Elite Four Tag Battle. Using her Clodsire and Dugtrio, she was able to defeat Tulip and Sidian by defeating the latter's Garganacl before proceeding to battle Liko and Katy. In the next episode, she battled against Liko and Katy, winning by Terastalllizing her Clodsire to defeat Liko's Floragato.
Character
Rika showed a deep interest in seeking especially strong Trainers that can hold their own in the Paldea League. During the meeting with Liko, she cited the high level that Trainers from the Kanto region tend to be at and later when she saw Liko in battle, realizing the enormous potential Liko has as a Trainer.
Rika is generally lighthearted and kind to others, taking the time before battle to reassure Liko and calm her down, and even joking around with her to try and break the ice. However, she is incredibly ruthless in battle and does not hold back, encouraging others to do the same.
As a member of the Paldea Elite Four, Rika is an incredibly skilled and powerful trainer in and of herself, being able to properly and expertly command both her Pokémon at once and improvising strategies and move combinations on the spot. She also does not hesitate to Terastallize her Pokémon upon seeing her opponent pull out all the stops, despite having the Tera Type disadvantage.
