  • Water: When the capture disc is held down it will start to form a bubble. The longer it is held down the bigger the bubble will get, to release flick it.
  • Fire: The capture line leaves flames that stun Pokémon and also creates an explosion when a loop is closed.
  • Fighting: Each loop drawn is the equivalent of two.
  • Ground: Earth is churned up, stopping Pokémon in their tracks if they step on it.
  • Ice: When a loop is completed, ice juts up that will freeze a Pokémon who steps on it.
  • Ghost: When a loop is completed, a ghost appears in the center and will try to freeze Pokémon.
  • Dark: At the penalty of some health, the maximum capture line length doubles.
  • Bug: Blobs can be flung by flicking the stylus on the screen that will stop Pokémon.
  • Psychic: Pokémon are levitated in mid-air.
  • Poison: The capture line leaves fog that works like grass or churned earth.
  • Flying: Whirl wind are created in the same manner as the bug assist.
