Pokémon world locations

Cerulean Cape is the unofficial name given to the northeastern-most point in the region of Kanto located at the east end of Route 25. This location is home to Bill in the Sea Cottage (in the games) or his lighthouse (in the anime) and is a popular spot for trainers and tourists alike. Many couples consider it a prime dating spot.

Sea Cottage

The Sea Cottage is a small building located in the northeast of Kanto. It is on Cerulean Cape and is home to Bill.

In the games

In Generations I and III, the Sea Cottage is home to Bill. He was experimenting with his cellular teleportation device when he was accidentally turned into a Clefairy. After he is rescued, the player is rewarded with a ticket for the S.S. Anne. Also, Bill will insist that the player look at the rare Pokémon on his computer, Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon.

In Generation II, Bill's grandfather is housesitting and will ask players to see certain Pokémon. In return, he will give out certain evolutionary stones, most of which are related to the Pokémon in question.

In Generation IV, there is an area next to Bill's Sea Cottage. It is where Suicune can be found and finally caught after roaming throughout Johto and Kanto.

In the anime

While the Sea Cottage does not appear in the anime, the lighthouse in Mystery at the Lighthouse fills the same purpose as the home of Bill. Ash and co. first stumbled across the lighthouse after he captured his Krabby and it disappeared. When Brock explained that Krabby was being sent to Professor Oak's laboratory, Ash immediately wanted to call him to see if Krabby made it safely. Spotting the lighthouse, the gang decided to trek there.

In the Pokémon Adventures manga

The Sea Cottage debuts in ...But Fearow Itself! in the Red, Green & Blue chapter as Bill's home and where he makes all his inventions. Bill is transformed into a mutated Rattata when he was fixing one of his two Pokémon Transporters. The round doesn't show another machine inside, but it has an antenna in its roof. When Bill was a mutated Ratatta he got snatched by a wild Fearow which Red later captures. Later Bill is turned back to normal with the help of Red.

Gym Leader Misty on a date.
  • Misty, the Cerulean City Gym Leader, likes to bring her dates to the cape on the east side of Route 25. One such date was interrupted in Generation II when the main character encountered Misty at the land bridge between the two ponds following the restoration of power to Kanto.
