Talk:The Electric Tale of Pikachu
I've uploaded cover photos for the first issue of each series, in case someone finds a place to use them. They're not high quality as the the company who made my scanner won't let anyone release drivers for Linux for it, so I used my digital camera. The images are:

The or no The?
In the title. Should it be The Electric Tale of Pikachu or simply Electric Tale of Pikachu? The opening line refers to it as the former... TTEchidna 00:42, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- According to most sources including the original book, I believe "The" is part of the title and not simply a grammatical addition. HechEff 20:26, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn’t realize there was a discussion “ongoing”. But really, no debate has occurred since January, at which time adding “The” was favored. And in the wake of the Adventures decision, logic and policy seem clear: English titles on Encyclopaediae Pokémonis’s English wiki. Anyway, if/when my moves are restored, I forgot an exclamation point at the end of the series and first volume titles, be sure to include it. --LaprasBoi 17:25, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
- Bumping this discussion because we should really reach a consensus. LaprasBoi, this isn't really an issue of English title vs. Japanese, thankfully that's FINALLY been resolved for the manga pages, this is more of a grammar/correctness thing.
- As for my thoughts on "the The", I still think the pages should be moved to the title with the The, as VIZ's first volume uses the The, and I believe Chuang Yi's version uses the The for all four volumes. It can be a little grammatically awkward, but I believe it's more correct. (oh god if i have to type the word "The" again... >_O) --ZestyCactus 15:25, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Movie Adaptation?
I'm pretty sure there was also an adaptation of the first Pokémon movie based on The Electric Tale of Pikachu, or am I wrong? XD375 17:20, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
- You aren't wrong. I remember borrowing a CoroCoro from a friend, and there was a separate, smaller booklet enclosed in it celebrating the release of the first movie. This booklet had a manga based on the first few minutes of the first movie, and was draw by Ono. --Pizzaman 12:19, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
info
why isnt there any info for chapeters 2 and onward??Ritchie
- Because we don't have an Electric Tale expert who can easily make the pages. Given that most of the manga experts here base themselves on Pokémon Special, it may be awhile before an Electric Tale expert could show up...--Shiningpikablu252 23:06, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- I have all four copies of Dengeki Pikachu. Just tell me what tasks I need to perform. HechEff 20:21, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Wait, WHAT? Gay?
"Also, it was strongly hinted that main character Ash was gay."
Now, I haven't read this entire series (I've read the Viz translations of volumes 2 and 4, and the first 3 chapters of volume 1 in Japanese), however I have seen nothing suggesting that Satoshi is gay. In fact, quite the opposite. Unlike his anime counterpart he actually shows blatant attraction to women. For specific examples, Shigeru's sister Satsuki and Kasumi's sisters Sakura, Ayame and Botan come to mind. --Sato 11:31, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- It's probably because of the Ritchie part. I've read it but I think they were just buddies. Ash seemed more attracted to girls. --ケンジのガール 20:48, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- I agree with Sato's statement. Unlike in the majority of the TV series, Satoshi/Ash may even borderline being Takeshi/Brock's partner in crime when it comes to girl hunts. More evidence of this being when they snuck up on Kasumi/Misty in the bath scene in the original version. Either way, I am yet to find evidence regarding the main character being 'gay' as some put it (and naturally, humorous gags do not count). HechEff 20:20, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Regarding "the The"
Just throwing this out there... I still think this should be moved to "The Electric Tale of Pikachu". VIZ's first volume is called "The Electric Tale of Pikachu!" and all four of Chuang Yi's volumes are also "The Electric Tale of Pikachu". --ZestyCactus 05:06, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
