Ash's Mamepato (Japanese: サトシのマメパト Satoshi's Mamepato) is the first Pokémon that Ash Ketchum caught in the Isshu region.

History

As he has done in every other region he has traveled through, Ash caught a Template:Type2 Pokémon early in his journey through Isshu. Mamepato was caught soon after arrival in BW002. Shortly after Ash failed to catch a Mamepato from a flock, he noticed one walking on the ground. He quickly engaged her in battle. She managed to put up a good fight against Ash's Pikachu; the Template:Type2 having to use Iron Tail, Quick Attack, and Thunderbolt to take down the Baby Pigeon Pokémon. After weakening her, Ash took the chance to catch Mamepato. Upon success, he then celebrated with Pikachu as Iris showed up.

Ash later called out Mamepato for the first time in a effort to save Pikachu and Iris's Kibago. However, as she was still weak from her last battle, she was defeated rather quickly by Jessie's Koromori. She was later healed at the Pokémon Center.

Mamepato appeared in BW007 where Ash used her to find a wild Tsutarja he wishes to capture. Mamepato was able to find Tsutarja, and Pikachu, Mijumaru and Pokabu were used to try to capture her. However, they were unable to defeat it due to Tsutjara's Attract; though, as Mamepato is a female Pokémon, she was unaffected by Attract. After a hard-fought battle, she weakened Tsutarja enough for Ash to capture it.
