Heya everyone! New user here, but a long-time fan of the Pokémon games, and a fairly new Wiki addict.
This user is a member of Project Moves and Abilities. |
This user's DS friend code for Pokémon Pearl is 3780 5509 2075. |
I joined Bulbapedia in the hopes of contributing to the games info, mostly. I've got a couple good sites I can go to in search of good moves for my Pokémon, but one thing I noticed was a severe lack of detail on a lot of moves. The in-game descriptions of move effects are always quite vague, and most fansites don't bother to do any research on the actual effects (for example, a lot of people know recover heals the user by half the Pokémon's maximum HP, but it's rarely mentioned anywhere). I'm always looking for a good project to get started on, so that's going to be my job from now on!
For more info on me, feel free to check one of my other accounts on other websites. I'm on DeviantART, as Jioruji-Derako, and on GuildWiki, as Jioruji Derako (wow, such imaginative names). I'm on quite a few other sites as well, but DeviantART and GuildWiki are the two I spend most time on.
I've got plenty of experience with the MetaWiki formatting and coding, but keep in mind, I'm quite new to Bulbapedia. If I do anything that's even close to breaking a policy, let me know! I've gotta learn somehow. :P

Pokémon Teams
So far, all my teams have been various Pokémon, nothing especially noteworthy. My only two Pokémon to make it to level 100 are my Rayquaza and my Mewtwo, named Altix and Eradix, respectively. They're both currently on my Pokémon Emerald cartridge.
I'm working on a few team ideas at the moment; due to my somewhat scatter-brained methods, I haven't gotten very far on any one team, but I do have enough to list a bit here...
First off is a team from Emerald. It's in progress, as the most I've done so far is train one of the team-members and plan out the rest.
Dogs of War
- Sneasel
- Manectric
- Zangoose
- Absol
- Houndoom
- Mightyena
Sneasel made it to level 60, but then I stopped playing for a while.
Now, with Pearl, I can build a team a bit easier; the Physical/Special Attack system makes it much easier now to get a Sneasel with high-powered Dark-moves, which I plan to do. I need a good Physical-type Ice attack though, and Ice Punch is the best option... unfortunately, Ice Punch isn't nearly as easy to come by in Pearl as it is in Emerald. Time to start breeding my old Sneasel...
Here's the team so far:

I've got a lot of ideas floating around, but we'll see if anything actually comes of it all. As you can see, I like Dark-types and Ninja-like Pokémon... Sneasel's my favorite Pokémon, but guys like Luxray and Absol come in close second place. I went out of my way with this team to make sure their weaknesses are balanced... shared weaknesses are a big deal.
- Sneasel has to worry about Bug, Fire, Rock, and Fighting-types twice over. In which case, Absol is packing Psycho Cut (against Fighting-types) and probably Water Pulse (against Fire and Rock-types), while Shedinja can't be hit by most of these types. Bug is dealt with by Ninjask's Aerial Ace, or Houndoom's Flamethrower.
- Houndoom and Luxray need to worry about Ground-types, which can be avoided by Ninjask, or wiped out with Absol's Water Pulse. Houndoom's weakness to Water is dealt with by Luxray, with Thunder Fang or Discharge.
- Shedinja's weakness list is rather long; Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost and Rock-types will all take it out. Dark is easy to deal with, as Dark-types have a resistance to each-other. Fire is dealt with by Absol, Flying is dealt with by Luxray, Ghost doesn't stand a chance against all three dark-types (plus Luxray's Crunch), and Rock is back to Absol.
- Ninjask shares Shedinja's weakness to Fire and Rock-types, which are already dealt with. Weakness to Flying is handled by Luxray. Ice is handled by Houndoom. Electric can be simply combated head-to-head with Luxray, or left to Shedinja or one of the others. And Rock-types are once again in Absol's realm of expertise.
- Absol only has weaknesses to Fighting and Bug, and Absol can easily deal with Fighting on it's own with Psycho Cut. Bug weakness is already fairly well covered by the others.
...yeah, I thought about this setup quite a bit. Thinking too much is the main reason I've yet to actually finish one of these teams, but I think I can do it on this try. I already like these Pokémon on their own, so at the very least, I'll be able to train a few of them, even if not as a team. In the end, I probably won't give Absol Water Pulse, and I'll switch out Shedinja or one of the others in favor of a different Pokémon. That would leave my Rock-weakness to only Sneasel and Ninjask, who can be switched out easily.
