This is where you ask me questions, tell me to do stuff, and complain about my edits. Please start every new topic in a new section at the bottom of the page, and always sign your posts. I will always reply on this page. If I have written on your talk page, please reply there. If I've promised to do something and haven't done it yet, send me a reminder. I get forgetful in my old age. —darklordtrom 12:00, 31 December 2010 (UTC) |
(Trainer class)
So should we move Team Rocket Grunt to Team Rocket Grunt (Trainer class) along with Team Plasma Grunt? Also should we move Magma/Aqua Grunt (Trainer class) to Team Magma/Aqua Grunt (Trainer class)? - unsigned comment from Landfish7 (talk • contribs)
- Unless there's some reason they weren't moved the first time... —darklordtrom 04:39, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Wi-fi
Hey Trom (I'm dropping my formal tone), where do you live in NZ, exactly? If you want, I might be able to find a free wi-fi hotspot for you. Just trying to be helpful! ;} - Twisted Ivy 14:50, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Help
Sorry I keep disturbing you :( You know my entries for the Christmas Improvement Drive? You know, the Pokémon Musical and Team Charm? Well, it still says there are missing sections in it. Would you give me some tips for filling those in with? I mean, I know the CID is over, but I'd still like to improve them. Twisted Ivy 15:47, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- It says there are missing sections because they need to be manually removed. I'm not familiar with either the Musicals or any side games so I don't know exactly what's required. —darklordtrom 04:39, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Nintendo 3DS
Hi, I'm not sure where to type but its regarding the "Nintendo branding the 3DS as dangerous" article. The Nintendo 3DS has been stated several times not to be part of the Nintendo DS line, it's a brand new handheld console borrowing the dual screen touch from its predecessor, which is all. Inside its a whole new machine, graphics - the lot basically. Just thought I'd let you know that :) --Craigybabyxo 08:55, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
Re:IAPL
Hello, I'm one of the guys in charge of the IAPL wiki (known as Anonymousse); and I have to say; I'm terribly sorry over the copyright deal. To be honest, I dislike using other's work and usually try to make my own. And I know I might sound like trying to put the shame on another; but I feel the need to say this. We used to have another webhost in 000webhost.com, and we had a wiki set up in there as well; This edit over here was made by a user named Ketsuban (we are still unsure about whether he used to be part of this community or not). I'm not sure if you've heard of him. Anyways, when he brought up the Party template, I started asking him about bringing that template in, but he said he asked and he got a 'yes'. So I went on and edited it. Regarding the RegionInfobox template, it's heavily based upon Bulbapedia's; but I can say it's a work entirely made by me. With that said, I must say that the Party template is only a placeholder, since I still was uneasy about using it; once I can learn about wiki markup better, I'll replace it with my own work (lots of people can prove that). But in the meantime, we'll put attribution to your work, how do you want it? Tell me and we'll change what's needed. Once again, I'm sorry over that. Mind if I ask something? How did you come across to the Project site? I look forward to your response. Masatoshi talk contribs 03:34, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
tl;dr by bigplrbear (2nd admin): Sorry about using your stuff; we were under the impression (thanks to a user named Ketsuban, whom we were under the impression that he came from Bulbapedia) that we could use the templates freely. We'll start replacing your templates with our own, but in the meantime, would it be okay if we gave credit to those who made it? If so, how would you like the credit to be displayed? Also, how'd you find out about our project, if you don't mind us asking?
If you have any further concerns and you want to reach us directly, you're more than welcome to get on the IRC at irc.rizon.net #iapl and send Anonymousse or I a PM. :) Bigplrbear 03:47, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, guys. Just provide some documentation saying that the templates are taken from Bulbapedia and will be replaced as soon as possible. I think the Ketsuban user you refer to may be User:Missingno000; he recently filed a request to change his username here to Ketsuban. A friend and colleague of mine saw you guys on /vp/ and noticed you'd copied a few templates; as I'm the go-to copyrights guy around here, she asked me to say something to you. Again, thanks for your cooperation. —darklordtrom 06:45, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- There's absolutely no way we can know about that. All I can say is that the guy used proper grammar and was a power-hungry guy; he was in charge of one of the Leagues; until he was removed because of his vandalic actions and some stuff in the game script. And regarding the templates, I know that the Party template will have that; as well as with the color2 one; but there's a thing I'm not sure about. The roundy template, since it uses CSS attributes that are global; should we rename the template or what? And what about the Hex colours? I'm not sure about that, since they are present in the games. And, are you okay with the style we're using? Since Bulbapedia's work is actually something inspiring to work on, and plus, I kinda hate square corners. I think I know who told you about the project :P. Anyways, thank you for being comprehensive; I'd hate being hated by Bulbagarden/pedia. I'll get to work on a Documentation, can I use Bulbapedia's logo for that, by the way? Masatoshi talk contribs 07:15, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- We could confirm by checking IP addresses, I guess, but it isn't a big deal and shouldn't be handled in public. The roundy template, or versions thereof, is being used on many wikis. Although I think our incarnation was coded up by Bulbagarden staff, we can't really hold claim to rounded corners (despite what TTE may think). The hex colors were taken out of the game by Bulbapedia users, but I don't think we can justifiably hold claim to them either. I'll leave the rest to your judgment: if you've taken it directly from BP, then add attribution. If it's original work, it's original work. You are welcome to use Bulbapedia's logo in a link-back documentation message. —darklordtrom 08:31, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- Possibly; gotta check Ketsuban's IP in the forum. The documentation has been made into a template (BulbaDoc), and it's put into the Party template and the Pokémon/5 (transcluded to only Pokémon); not sure if that's okay. And, as soon as I get to figure out how to use some parser functions correctly, I'll start to make the Party template for us. *sigh* I'm still sorry over this stuff. Masatoshi talk contribs 10:32, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- You're doing well. Thanks again, and good luck with your project. —darklordtrom 10:53, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

- indentation reset Alright, then. Good to know. I should be thanking you for this, actually. And thanks, we're going to need as much luck as we can. *looks worried at Nintendo* Masatoshi talk contribs 11:03, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for hearing us out. Like anonymousse said, we'll get on documenting anything used from Bulbapedia, and we'll give credit where credit's due. Anon's just a bit scared of copyright stuff (I, for one am not, since (thankfully) Nintendo has a well documented history for not caring, unless you make money and/or use their ROMs/Code), so this whole deal freaked him out a bit. As I said before, if you have any more concerns and you wish to contact us directly, feel free to PM us in the IRC or Forums. Bigplrbear 03:15, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Blocking second account
Hey. I had a problem logging in with my first account (user:Weedefinition), which you tried to help me with back in October. Well I kept trying to get a new password since but It's obviously not gonna happen. So now would be a good time to block the Weedefinition account, since I can't use it anyway and I can't have two accounts. Thanks for all your help and apologies for all the hassle. WellyDawn 15:10, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- Not a problem at all. Have a nice day. —darklordtrom 02:30, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

I don't know what your policy is on usernames but this dude has DICKS in his username. I saw it AFTER creating his talk page so...sorry 'bout that ;_; --«ιɴsσмɴιαc» 15:53, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Here's the Bulbapedia Username Policy for future's reference, Insomniac. ^^ And indeed you're not allowed to have obscenities in your username. But an admin should take care of it soon enough. Thanks for your help ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ 15:55, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
User deletion request.
Hello. I'm leaving this comment on your talkpage because you were the last person to leave a comment on mine. If you are not responsible for what I am about to talk about, please ignore this and send my note to the correct person.
After two hilarious discussions about me doing to many edits in my namespace (BTW, when I want to talk with a robot, I visit Cleverbot), I realized that I am unable to edit my own pages. I truly appreciate your imagination and creativity in modifying terms like "democracy" and "my own possession". Hey, at last we're on wiki, where anyone can change anything! (insert laugh) Back to the point. You see, after that I found out that I cannot simply remove my account and I have to beg someone to do it. So here I am. Please, please, destroy my user account and all pages that has violated this precious, given by Arceus himslef "3 times per day" law. Destroy all my edits that were - what I thought - a mere and humble addition to the Bulbapedia, but - in fact - were "horrible, horrible crimes". I understand what have I done and decided to leave this place and never contribute to any online community ever (just in case they have developed as stupid laws as the ones here). I hope my dose of irony wasn't too big for your servers. And if it was - I will laugh even more. Yes. Sincerely, Piotr mil 15:37, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
- Don't be so pretentious. I'm not deleting your pages. That's not how I roll.
- Bulbapedia has rules for a reason. We discourage over-editing of userspace pages because we are, first and foremost, an encyclopedia. Your edits looked like they might have eventually benefited the wiki; however, you still have to stick to the rules. If you're making helpful userspace edits, we get more lenient with the limits, but you aren't immune. If you make a few mainspace edits for every userspace edit, you'll be sweet. If you choose to disregard this message and leave the wiki, that's fine too. Just don't be an ass about everything. I learned the hard way when I joined Bulbapedia - if you act like a dick, you'll get treated like one. —darklordtrom 10:51, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
R/S/E Remakes
Is it possible for someone to make a tab saying "This user supports R/S/E remakes"?--Darknesslover5000 02:50, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
- If you play around with some of the templates you can modify one to make it say that. Frozen Fennec 03:14, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
- Feel free to make one in your userspace by editing an existing template. The old GSDS template might be around - you could modify that if you can find it. —darklordtrom 10:51, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
