Here's how it works

On your userpage, write the following:

|<Unlinked text>
|<Link location>
|<Linked text>
|<Image>
|<Text color template name>
|<Main background color template name>
|<Image background color template name>
|<Border color template name>
}}

Note that the colors must all be on the same line, unlike what is shown here

And here's an example:
