Aspects in Need of Investigation
- Is there a better, non-generation-specific name for this feature than "ID number lottery"?
- The note about matching four digits in GSC is purely hypothetical and needs to be confirmed.
- In Generation III, does the game search the entire PC system for a match or only the currently selected PC box?
- It is assumed that, if a player has more than one Pokémon with a matching ID, the game will select the one whose ID has the most matching digits, and if there is a tie, it will use whichever one comes first in the player's party or PC system. However, this has not been rigorously tested. —Minimiscience
Name
I stumbled upon this page, and so far i think it's good. But isn't it called the "Lotto?" That, IMO, is better than "ID Number Lottery" Focus58 16:55, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
- Where is it called that? In both Generation III and IV, it takes place at the "Pokémon Lottery Corner," where you draw "Loto [sic] Tickets." In Generation II, it's just the "Lucky Number Show." Now that I've looked it up, it seems that "Pokémon Lottery Corner" would make the best title.... —Minimiscience 17:42, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

I play pearl and I have gotten mutilble pokemon from my friend, and I have won with some of his pokemon and It said the name of whatever pokemon was first in my party OR in a pc box. BTW the numbers were from my weather trio Truthseeker4449 19:00, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
Glitch?
When receiving a Lucky Number prize in Gold, it said that I had an Azumarill that matched... and gave me a prize. I never had an Azumarill. Yoshidude56 01:14, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
