Knights
They look kind of like medieval knights, don't they? xD --PhantomJunkie 03:33, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
- I'd agree, and that could in fact be something to do with their goals, or their names, or the style of their headquarters. Like with Team Galactic, or Team Aqua. But that's all just speculation on my part. But their crest looks like a chield, and that connects with the image of knights. I can't stop thinking of you, the Soul of the Dawn we spent together... 14:43, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- We could just mention that they resemble medieval knights (like how we make a note that Team Galactic's uniforms resemble space suits) and avoid all the speculation. --SnorlaxMonster 09:14, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- They look like German Order. Would make much more sense for them to be villains in a Poland-based region. But well... --Maxim 09:20, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

Giovanni, Cyrus, Maxie, Archie
In the trivia section, it states "They are also the first team where the leader is battled more then once, with N being battled a total of five times." However, in D/P, you battle Cyrus twice and in Pt you battle him 3 times. You also battle the leader of Team Aqua/Magma twice. Lastly, Giovanni is battled 3 times in R/B/Y/LG/FR Darkcloud1111 18:35, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
- Fixed I deleted the whole peice of triva it was compleatly wrong. (Pokemaster97 18:38, 10 October 2010 (UTC))
Colour scheme
Their shield and uniforms contain contrasting black and white elements (the shield is even split in half. Should this somehow mentioned in the trivia section? I am not sure on the wording of that, though. And please do not comment on the third 'bluish' colour. --HTMLCODER.exe@bulbapedia$_ /usr/bin/apache2 -k restart 15:14, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
Villainous Team
Could it be argued (quite easily actually) that Team Plasma is not a "Villainous Team" at all. Outside of the Very end where Ghetisis goes completely off the rails, generally Team Plasma's cause is noble and their methods are not "Villainous" nor is their goal, it is heroic and noble. This game is Based on America, and their movement is easily compared to the anti-slavery movements of the Antebellum Period, this was a hard game for me to play due to this, so Team Plasma as a "Villainous Team" seems to be a mis-characterization. You, Cheren, Bianca, The Gym Leaders and the Junipers are closer "Villainous Team" than Team Plasma. --DrunkMachoke 08:03, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- Were you even playing the same game? Team Plasma's cause is ostensibly noble, but they accomplish their goals through theft (the Dragon Skull), Pokémon abuse (Munna in the Dreamyard), and Pokénapping (multiple times). Honestly, you could say that Team Aqua and Magma weren't villainous teams, either—they felt that they were doing the right thing as well. Actions speak louder than words, and Team Plasma accomplishes its goals through crime. --AndyPKMN (talk) 11:29, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- Ghetsis was planning the whole thing from the begining. He says so when he is defeated at N's Castle. But I don't know about the other team plasma members. They were just following some bad guy's rules. Stupid, but crooks can do amazing things. Therefor, I think it is a "Villainous Team" because it has a villainous leader. But that's just my two cents. : ) Focus58 11:35, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- First off the Seven Sages (Outside of Ghetsis) are nice guys (They give you a TM and go Quietly) secondly if Pokemon training is considered slavery or animal fighting(as it pretty much is if you think about it) then "Pokenapping) is not an evil thing, it's more liberation, (would you say Harriet Tubman committed property theft?) Ghetsis was insane, and just one of the seven sages. N is the leader of Plasma and a total Idealist on Pokemon liberation. The kicking of a Munna?!?! Your character can (and likely will) subject Munna's to attacks much graver than a kick (Fire Blast, Hyper Beam, etc.) anyway the kick was out of frustration and to judge an entire organization's operation on a single grunt's actions is wrong. Also is theft (or other "illegal activity") for a greater cause actually wrong? The problem is that Team Plasma's actions don't fall under the "Villainous" category. --DrunkMachoke 23:59, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- They're criminals. Regardless of Ghetsis's claims that he is just one of the seven sages, he is the one pulling the strings: he was the one who organized the other sages, founded Team Plasma, and raised N to be their king, all to further his own selfish goals. N basically served as a figurehead, having firm beliefs and determination, but being naive enough for Ghetsis to manipulate. Your analogies to slavery are a stretch: Team Plasma themselves state that they forced Pokémon they freed to construct their castle. Meanwhile, the player, their rivals, and the Gym Leaders don't treat Pokémon as slaves or trained animals, but as friends and partners.
- Like I said, Team Aqua and Magma wouldn't count as villains by your logic, as they are really only committing their crimes for what they see as a noble cause. Heck, a lot of real-world "villainous teams" wouldn't count under your conditions. Most villains don't think of themselves as villains. --AndyPKMN (talk) 01:37, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- What Kind of Trainers don't Train their Pokemon, secondly they're not so much criminals as they are revolutionaries, Pokemon are used as laborers throughout the Pokemon World and to be completely honest it's better than getting attacked by fire until you "faint," there's the Lighthouse, Vermilion City, Oreburgh City, and plenty of other examples of "good guys" using Pokemon as a source of Labor. To be completely honest what kind of Friendship is built upon having one fight for the other's amusement and then being stored in a ball for hours if not days on end, if that is your idea of friendship then I really don't know what to say. In what way is the Pokemon slavery comparison a stretch? And if it's not slavery then it's animal fighting, and that's pretty bad too!--DrunkMachoke 02:51, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- This is not the place to be discussing the moral stand of Team Plasma's goals. Regardless of their goals, they are show to steal items and Pokémon. Therefore they can be termed villainous. They are also the antagonsists opposing the protagonist, making them "villains" from the player character's perspective. Further discussion of Team Plasma's goals should be taken to the forums. Werdnae (talk) 04:56, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- Didn't some of the Grunts at N's Castle mention something about stealing all the Pokemon that they bamboozled their Trainers into releasing? Sounds pretty villainous to me. Maetch 00:04, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

Chess reference?
The number of unique characters in Team Plasma, counting Grunts two times (or one time if Dudley is considered to be a member) adds up to 16. 16 is the number of figures one player has at its disposal in chess. The games have a monochrome theme, as they are even named Black and White. Worth adding?

- Counting Shadow Triads, Anthea, concordia, seven sages, N and Plasma Grunts. That's more than 16, so no.- unsigned comment from Force Fire (talk • contribs)
N + Ghetsis + Six remaining sages + Anthea and Concordia + Shadow Triad + Plasma Grunt (m) + Plasma Grunt (f) + Scientist Dudley adds up to 16 unique characters. I forgot Ghetsis was part of the Seven Sages.- unsigned comment from Renoir (talk • contribs)
- Considering the different genders of Grunt to be separate is really just to make this fit 16. It is a coincidence. --SnorlaxMonster 14:52, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
Origin
Could Team Plasma be based on PETA or Animalia? Ariano 09:53, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
Not really. TeamPlasma 20:25, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
