Mewtwo just wants to live in peace. No such luck! Giovanni, head of Team Rocket, wants to take over the world — again! To do that, he'll need Mewtwo's psychic powers and he'll stop at nothing to get them — even destroying Mewtwo's friends. Now, Mewtwo must choose to fight back or join Team Rocket.

- In the movie, Mewtwo freed the clones by waving its hand over the Poké Balls they were imprisoned in. In the book, however, it picked up the Poké Balls and threw them one by one until all the clones had been freed.
