The Pokémon Lab (Japanese: ポケモンけんきゅうじょ Pokémon Laboratory) is a laboratory located on Cinnabar Island. It was founded by Dr. Fuji and only appears in the Generation I games and Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen due to being destroyed prior to the events of Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, and SoulSilver. Fossils must be revived in the Pewter Museum of Science in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.

The main entrance has a large reception area and a hallway the the right with three rooms.
In the reception area, there is a portrait of Dr. Fuji, the laboratory's founder. In Generation III, the player is surprised upon reading the name, indicating familiarity.

In the first room of the Pokémon Lab, there are two people who will offer to trade Pokémon. In the Pokémon Red and Green, Pokémon Red and Blue, and Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, the old man will offer his Electrode for a Raichu, while the girl will want to trade her Tangela for a Venonat. In Pokémon Blue, he will offer a Graveler for a Kadabra instead, with the girl offering a Slowpoke for a Seel. In Pokémon Yellow, the old man offers his Golduck for Rhydon and the girl offers her Growlithe for Dewgong.
In the second room, there is a man who is interested in Metronome. In the Generation I games, he gives away TM35 (Metronome). In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, he is a Move Tutor who teaches Metronome.
In the third room, there is a scientist, named エラーイはかせ Dr. Erāi in the Japanese games, who will revive the Fossils the player obtained at Mt. Moon and Pewter Museum of Science in Pewter City. However, the player must walk out of the building before returning to claim their Fossil Pokémon. There is also a third in-game trade: Seel for a Ponyta in Pokémon Red and Green, Pokémon Red and Blue, and Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen; a Krabby for a Growlithe in Pokémon Blue; and Muk for Kangaskhan in Pokémon Yellow.

When Ash and his friends arrived on Cinnabar Island in Riddle Me This, they had planned to visit the Pokémon Lab. However, Team Rocket stole all of the Pokémon in it. Ash helped save them and sent the trio blasting off.

In Holy Moltres, Red was sent by Blaine to revive the Old Amber that he received from Giovanni in Make Way for Magmar!. Red managed to revive an Aerodactyl which he nicknamed Aero.
