Synopsis

Ash and Paul advance into the semi-final. However, due to Chimchar not being able to adjust its battle status perfectly, Paul releases Chimchar! On seeing that, Ash tells Chimchar "Let's have a journey and become stronger together!", and then captures Chimchar.

• Chimchar joins Ash's team.
• Paul's Elekid evolves into an Electabuzz.
• Ash with his Staravia, and Paul with his Torterra, face Brock with his Croagunk, and Honoka with her Farfetch'd. Ash and Paul win, and advance to the finals.
• Dawn with her Buizel, and Kōhei with his Heracross, face Ash with his Chimchar, and Paul with his Elekid, in the finals.
• Ash and Paul win the tournament.
• Paul give the prize Soothe Bell to Ash.Therefore Ash now has two Soothe Bells.
