Paul's Torterra (Japanese: シンジのドダイトス Shinji's Dodaitose) is a Pokémon owned by Paul. It is Paul's strongest Pokémon. It made its first appearance in DP040, where it lost in battle to Cynthia's Garchomp. It is also revealed to be his starter Pokémon, and not Chimchar as assumed by many. It is voiced by 石塚運昇 Unshō Ishizuka in Japanese.

Trivia

This is the second time one of Ash's Rivals have had an evolved form of a starter Pokémon that Ash owns. The first is Gary who owned a Blastoise. It could also be noted that both Pokémon were the rival's starter Pokémon and they are both Tortoise Pokémon.
