Hawlucha was a Pokémon pro wrestler before taking part in Carl's Super Pokémon Battles until it was injured in a battle, in order to put less strain on it, Carl switched to Super Pokémon Battles. After Pikachu injured Gallade, mistaking Hawlucha for attacking Snubbull when it was actually training, Ash used his Hawlucha instead, and it was not impressed with its training. Later, however, they combined forces to help defeat Team Rocket. Afterwards, it battled Ash's Hawlucha in a Super Pokémon Battle, which reminded it of its wrestling days, and Ash's Hawlucha won, earning its respect. They shook hands before Ash and friends left. It was commonly called Dark Lucha when performing Super Pokémon Battles.
Hawlucha's only known move is Karate Chop.

It was injured by Ash's Pikachu when he protected Hawlucha from Pikachu's Thunderbolt, when he thought Hawlucha was attacking Snubbull. This put him on crutches making him unable to perform in Carl's Super Pokémon Battle, he was replaced by Ash's Hawlucha, he was healed after the performance.
None of Gallade's moves are known.
