Aftermath (Japanese: ゆうばく Induced Explosion) is an Ability introduced in Generation IV. Eight Pokémon can have this Ability.
Effect
In battle
When a Pokémon with this Ability faints due to damage from a move that makes contact, the attacking Pokémon will lose ¼ of its maximum HP. This Ability will not activate if a Pokémon with Damp is on the field.
Outside of battle
Aftermath has no effect outside of battle.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness, when the Pokémon faints, it sometimes causes an explosion similar to Selfdestruct, reducing HP by half on team members and by 40 on hostile Pokémon.

Trivia
- All Pokémon that are able to have this Ability can learn Explosion. Aftermath's similarity to Explosion is more apparent in languages other than English, including the original Japanese, in which the Ability is known as ゆうばく Yūbaku (Induced Explosion). This is also why the Ability Damp affects Aftermath.
- This Ability originated as an TCG Attack.
