Talk:Veronica Taylor
"It Takes Two"?
What song is that? --ElectAbuzzzz 18:54, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
It's a song which came from a commercial to help promote the Ruby and Sapphire games, and double-battles (Veronica Taylor and Rachael Lillis performed Ash and Misty, singing the song "It Takes Two"). I have this song! It's great! ^_^ However, the song was never released on any album, and the commercial seems to have been one-of-a-kind. PPN used to have it, but sadly, it's no longer on his hardrive. --PokemonTrainerLisa 06:14, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- lol, it's funny to come back here after a year of absence and find that my question has been answered in a random time during that year :) We should probably have an article for that song. Does anyone have the lyrics? --ElectAbuzzzz 21:31, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Well... May's return is tomorrow...
And I know we were all surprised when the other 4Kids VAs started coming back... So has she said anything about Saturday's episode? TTEchidna 06:54, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well May is still being voiced by Michele Knotz. I don't know how these rumors got started but they are obviously false. --ケンジのガール 20:34, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?! sorry, but I really love Veronica's voice acting. Mooites 00:46, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
To whoever posted that quote up there: I don't know how you got that information. But anyway, Veronica told me exactly that in an email she just sent me. However, I wish she would have explained further what she meant by that "In fact, they won't allow me to work on the show at all" thing. Because quite frankly, it doesn't make any sense for Pokemon USA to be saying this (especially given the fact that there are no contract issues now, and both Rachael Lillis and Maddie Blaustein have been given minor roles on the show recently). As for the rumor which was on Veronica's guestbook, in an email I received from her recently, Veronica has denied those rumors about her returning.
And to answer your question TTEchidna, Veronica isn't contracted to 4Kids. She never was (I know this because I've received many emails from Veronica, both during and after the VA switch). The other members of the original cast weren't under contract either, for that matter. In fact, Veronica and the rest of the original VAs are freelance. So therefore, Veronica should be able to work for any company she wants (which is why this whole thing with Pokemon USA makes no sense whatsoever). I have no idea why Pokemon USA isn't allowing Veronica to regain her role as Ash. What I do know, is that Sarah Natochenny is ruining Ash on Pokemon, because he is no longer the same character that he was in the 4Kids dub.
And by the way, personally, I thought Michele Knotz' performance as May in "A Full Course Tag Battle" was horrible. Let's see if Michele does any better in today's episode (September 20th). I'm not expecting much of a difference in her performance. But of course, I will give Michele Knotz the benefit of the doubt. --PokemonTrainerLisa 11:49, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
- Hm. Well, either way, at least we know for sure that she's not back as May, so there ya go. Opinions? Meh. All I can say is at least they aren't dumping episodes left and right to finish a season up for marketing. TTEchidna 18:17, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
- Here we go again. I don't believe that PUSA would just lock out Veronica Taylor because "they don't like her". Why would they want to lose fans by replacing the voice actors? If they lose fans they lose money. There was OBVIOUSLY a two year contract. How else can you explain why all these 4Kids actors are returning two years after this drama happened. Sure she isn't contracted now, but she was. Don't give me this crap that PUSA didn't want her to voice Ash anymore. I don't care that she e-mailed you personally. Did you ever think she's only telling you what you want to hear?
- Don't listen to these people who say that PUSA won't let her return to the show because it's lies. That's the biggest load of crap I've ever heard. Maddie Blaustein returned to the show, and she caused way more problems for PUSA than Veronica did. My personal believe, you don't have to agree, is that she doesn't want to return. I don't know if she said it herself or if some fan is making up crap to rile up SOVA. I hope she didn't say these things herself because that just shows what kind of person she truly is.
- Oh and Lisa. Since you had to voice your opinions I'll voice mine. Sarah Natochenny is not "ruining" Ash. She brought a different tone to him and I think it's working out great. If you keep expecting Ash to sound like Veronica Taylor again, then you're never going to happy with the show. For your own good, you should learn to accept her way of voicing Ash. Veronica Taylor's voice should not be the definition of Ash. Neither should Sarah's. Ash should define himself. You know why PUSA isn't letting Taylor retain her role as Ash. 1) Veronica Taylor might not have even tried to get her role back, 2) Sarah Natochenny has a contract. What do you expect them to do? Up and fire her so Veronica can voice her again? That's completely unreasonable. Sarah is doing the best she can to voice Ash and he's improved greatly from the time she started. And you're not cutting her any slack at all for the hard work she's doing because "She doesn't sound like Veronica Taylor". As I said, going by that logic, you'll never be able to enjoy the anime. --ケンジのガール 21:20, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
- I take it you didnt like the 4kids dub. I read your page and I agree, 4kids ruined TMM and so many other animes. But I think they did something right (yes, i said right) with Pokemon. Think about it, where would Pokemon be today without them? they defined the show and made the characters who they are. my bad, were. now Ash seems completely different. What happened to his Ashy spunk? Sure, he matured in AG, but he didnt loose his personality. Now hes just flat. and thats my opinion. I know nobody asked for it and im betting that this comment'll get deleted and we'll get the "forums please" message. oh well, here goes. --Mooites Talk to me, baby! 21:34, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
- Ash's personality isn't any different then before. He's the same person, just with a different voice. Don't let the person who's voicing him define who he is. I was just like PokémonTrainerLisa at one time. I thought that the anime would be ruined if the 4Kids actors weren't doing the voices anymore. So I did what SOVA's doing know. I wrote letters, complained and ranted. During that time I was completely miserable. Eventually I decided that my complaining was only making me upset so I decided to give the new voice actors a chance. It took a little while to get over the change, but I came to love the show more than ever. I was able to look past the voice actors and concentrate on what the anime was really about. The story that it tells. Isn't that what got us into it in the first place? I then realized that the new actors were becoming more and more comfortable with there roles and doing better jobs. Now, I feel happy with the anime and like it more than ever. --ケンジのガール 22:00, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

I mean it could be worse, Jamie Peacock could still be Ash's voice (I mean, Ash REALLY sounded like a retard)--KukiTalk 22:11, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
- oh, that was bad.
- actually, I think the reason I stuck with the show so long, because, call me crazy, i thought it was funny. hilarious actually. but sadly, the jokes were added by 4Kids and they left with 4Kids too. so yes, the voices are a huge reason I dont like PUSA, but unlike many other SOVA members, Im even more dissapointed with the dialogue and lack of, well, amusement. --Mooites Talk to me, baby! 22:15, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
Okay, enough talk about the opinions of 4Kids vs PUSA.
All I asked was whether she had said anything about returning, and if she was in the episode. Usually I don't have time to catch the dub on Saturday mornings, and I'm not in contact with the VAs as much as some people. TTEchidna 23:56, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
Rumors
I dunno if they're rumors or not, but on the Pokemon Wiki, it says that she will be coming back 2 voice Ash again in September? Littlmiget123 14:08, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
- Rumors don't belong on Bulbapedia. And its October already. Are you sure you aren't reading the rumor from last year? --ケンジのガール 19:57, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
That's most likely the "guestbook" rumor from last year. Unfortunately, I haven't heard any news yet, about Veronica returning. =( But if anyone would know something about her current situation, it would be me (given the fact that I'm close friends with Veronica). =P --PokemonTrainerLisa 11:18, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
By the way, I found the site which lists said rumor. [1] <---- Yep, it's definitely the rumor from last year. I wish I knew how to contact the person who's in charge of that article, so I can get this corrected. If anyone has the person's contact info, please let me know!! --PokemonTrainerLisa 08:24, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Birthdate
I'm not arguing in favor of the 1965 birthdate because I know of no good evidence for it, but I do have to point out that the 1978 date we had was highly implausible. IMDB lists her credits going back to 1985, including roles where she would obviously be playing an adult (with names like "Mother") as early as 1988. The 1978 date would make her just a 10-year-old child at that time. I agree with Tiddlywinks that it's a good idea not to give any date until we can confirm one, rather than simply letting the implausible 1978 date remain by default. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 15:45, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
- Also, it appears the 1978 date was added without citation by a user who added a large number of voice actor birth dates around the same time with no citation for any of them. This casts them all into doubt, and most of them remain visible in the mainspace, so I'll go remove those as well. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 16:00, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
- Update: While reverting these dates added by Rocketspeed, I found one they had added that was later debunked (although not with as reliable a source as would be preferred), which makes it even more likely Rocketspeed was adding untrue information. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 16:14, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
