Welcome to Bulbapedia, Hamfart!
Bulbapedia bulb.png

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --Tiddlywinks (talk) 20:03, 6 September 2016 (UTC)

Since you seem to frequently be returning to an edit you've already made to a page today, I'd like to suggest that perhaps making more use of the preview button, and taking your time a bit, would help you avoid the necessity for that. Thanks! Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:22, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Sun/Moon information

As a rule, please refrain from adding Sun and Moon information like Pokemon availability and level up moves at this point. Everything is still prerelease, so these things may not be accurate to the released game. I hope you can understand. Thanks! Tiddlywinks (talk) 20:03, 6 September 2016 (UTC)

Please stop adding pre-release information that is subject to change. Continually making edits that have been reverted constitutes as edit warring, which is a blockable offense. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 20:33, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
Once more, please do not try to add this sort of Sun/Moon info. If you continue to disregard this request, you may be facing a block. Tiddlywinks (talk) 01:42, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

Blocked until release date

Since it appears you will not be stopping, I have decided to block you, on the grounds edit warring, until the games are released. Please understand that we do not want any pre-release information on the pages as the information may change once the game is released. Thank you.--ForceFire 05:09, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

Userspace limits

Hello. I have noticed that you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently, and have made a total of 4+ userspace edits today. Please do not edit the userspace any more, as the userspace policy limits the amount you can edit your userpage: No more than three edits per day (by UTC), and you must contribute to the mainspace more than you edit your user page(s). This policy was instated to promote people helping out in the mainspace, and also to control strain on our servers. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal page(s). The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your user page(s). Thank you. --Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:45, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Please pay attention to your talk page, and/or follow our requets: do not edit your user page further today. Thank you. Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:02, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Userspace editing

Once again, it appears that you have gone over the userspace limit by making a total of 14 userspace edits today. Please keep in mind that the userspace editing limit is no more than three edits per day (by UTC), with the requirement of making at least one more constructive mainspace edit than userspace edits you make. Continued violations of the userspace policy may result in your userspace privileges being revoked. Thank you. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 17:20, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

A few things

Hello, this message will serve as your final warning to please make use of the preview button that can be located at he bottom of every edit screen near the save page button. If you fail to make use of the preview button from this point forward, you will be put in the "Force-preview" usergroup, where you will automatically have to preview before you are able to submit any edits. Being knowledgeable of this tool will help you avoid making too many edits to pages and going over the userspace limits for examples. Continuing to ignore talk messages will only make things progressively difficult for you. Please keep this in mind while you edit in the future. Thanks. --Pokemaster97 18:38, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Force preview

Hello, as you continue to make multiple edits to one page rather than making one full edit, you have been placed in force preview. You must preview your edits to ensure they are good to go the first time and that you don't have to make more smaller edits, regardless of if it doesn't clog up the recent changes. The editorial board will decide when to take you out of force preview. Thank you.--ForceFire 14:05, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

Userspace restrictions

Yet again, it appears that you have gone over the userspace limit by making a total of 5 userspace edits today. Once again, the userspace editing limit is no more than three edits per day (by UTC), with the requirement of making at least one more constructive mainspace edit than userspace edits you make. Continued violations of the userspace policy will result in your userspace privileges being revoked. This is your final warning. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 19:00, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

Major templates

Never, ever, make any unauthorized templates for major templates or changes to major template without consulting the staff. Edits to major templates can only be done by a staff member. The sprite box will be updated once we actually have the Gen VII Pokemon sprites.--ForceFire 15:15, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

Please don't blatantly ignore your talk page messages and a staff member. I said that the sprite box will be updated once the Gen VII Pokemon get their models uploaded. Have some patience.--ForceFire 15:25, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

In a similar vein, as a rule, new templates should be created in the userspace first and then brought to a staff member for approval. Please keep this in mind.

I have moved the template you recently created to User:Hamfart/Spritebox/7/Castform. Tiddlywinks (talk) 18:41, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Why would THAT be?--Hamfart
For one, it can help weed out things we don't want. But there are also certain standards the template may need to reach before will accept it for use in the mainspace. Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:42, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
I have found the sprites for Solgaleo and Lunala. However, I can't upload them, as it says I'm neither a staff member (obviously) nor an autoconfirmed user. How can I become autoconfirmed?--Hamfart

Signature

Please note that per our signature policy, your signature must include a timestamp to let people know when you left your message. Please update it to include this. Thanks! Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 02:05, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

Abuse

Hello, due to editing your userpage way too many times, you have been placed in abuse. While you do edit the mainspace here and there, you only make a couple and then make a plethora of userpage edits, which is unacceptable. Bulbapedia is not Facebook, you should be striving to improve the wiki by adding information, especially after a game's release. The Editorial Board will decide when to take you out of abuse.--ForceFire 05:30, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

Don't you think it's about time the Editorial Board took me out of abuse? I mean, I have been doing a little less editing, but I've been contributing. --Hamfart

Template:G7ievent

Hi! I wanted to say, first off, thanks for setting up the Gen VII in-game event template. However, if you'd like to change the design, like the colors, do you think you could make a copy of the template in your userspace where you can play with that stuff? All of our templates for the same thing in past generations look basically the same, so it'd probably be best if any changes to that design are approved first. When you feel like you have something good ironed out, feel free to contact me or any staff member on their talk page about it. Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:56, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

Usertags

Please take a look at our usertag policy. We do not allow users to create usertags outside of their userspace, until five users use the tag and it is approved by two staff members. For now, keep any usertag you create in your userspace.

I have moved your usertags to your userspace. Please keep this in mind in the future. Berrenta (talk) 00:52, 26 December 2016 (UTC)

Magnedeth's sprite pages

Hamfart, you are aware Magnedeth hasn't edited their sprite pages in years, right? If you're expecting a response or something, it's reasonably unlikely. And if you're not expecting a response, well, please consult our talk page policy: talk pages are only supposed to be used for improving Bulbapedia, not for idle chit-chat. Thanks. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 16:46, 9 January 2017 (UTC)

Okay. His page is really funny though. Even the responses for Machop, Machoke, Machamp, Bellsprout, Golduck, Persian, Venusaur (I hate Venusaur, so yeah.), Clefable, and Wigglytuff. - unsigned comment from Hamfart (talkcontribs)

Your talk page

Bulbapedia's talk page policy explicitly prohibits using your talk page as a substitute for a user page. Not to mention, you're basically trying to get around your userspace restriction. Please don't. Please maintain your talk page as a talk page only. Thank you. Tiddlywinks (talk) 01:28, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Move variation templates

Please note that we have very strict requirements as to what can be considered move variations, which you can read at the top of the move variations page. In particular, let me highlight the fact that similar or identical effects are not the only criterion — moves must also have identical power and PP differing by no greater than 5. By our standards, Thousand Waves, Spirit Shackle, and Anchor Shot are not variations, so you should not have created the template (not to mention that you've already been warned about creating templates in the mainspace before) and added it to those pages. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 16:31, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Blocked

Hello, due to your continual creations of unwarranted templates in the mainspace and ignoring staff warnings, you have been blocked for a week. As Pumpkinking said above, effects aren't the only criteria needed for move variations. Like I said before, if you want to create a template for the mainspace, create it in your userpage, which I know you can't edit - but that does not mean you should just make it anyway. When you come back and want to suggest a template, bring it up to a staff member and they will decide if your template is needed. Thank you.--ForceFire 07:29, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

Sockpuppets

Making another account to try and pass off as a new user is expressly against the rules. The sockpuppet is banned indefinitely and this account has been banned for a month. glikglak 19:18, 27 January 2017 (UTC)

There was someone at my school who wanted an account named Bilo (Strange Name) who apparently played Pokémon HeartGold, so I wanted to show him around the site. I find it unnecessary to do such a thing, since I was not the one who made his account.--Hamfart
Looking further, it appears that the new account was created on an IP that you used previously. Thus, it makes it hard to tell that it's someone else. Can you have him try creating an account on his computer if he has access to one (preferably different from "Fishgum"; otherwise, that raises suspicions for the staff that it's another sock)? Berrenta (talk) 06:10, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
That's the thing. He has access. Our school lets us use computers for the majority of school work, but when it's time to leave a period, we go on other sites. He let me help him make his account on his computer, although I made his talk page.--Hamfart

Fansubs

I'd like to ask a couple things of you.

First, please do not copy fansubs like here. If you don't know Japanese yourself, either ask someone here who does, or leave it alone entirely.

Second, I'm pretty sure we don't add 'dex entries until an episode is dubbed anyway. If someone more familiar with the anime can correct me on this, then OK, but until then, please don't add any translations (fansubs or not) of 'dex entries from Japanese episodes.

Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 18:03, 28 February 2017 (UTC)

I didn't notice your recent addition right away, but I want to repeat:
DO NOT copy fansubs.
Let me try to keep this simple. If you don't know Japanese, please don't try to add any sort of Japanese quote. Don't add dex entries. Don't add Poke Problems. (I don't know what else, but stay away from all that.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:32, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
Okay. I deleted it, too.--Hamfart

Signature

May I ask if there's a particular reason you don't have a timestamp in your signature? Are you, perhaps, mistakenly typing three tildes (~~~) instead of four (~~~~)? Or is it an intentional choice for some reason? Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 15:38, 10 March 2017 (UTC)

Is there a problem? If so, then I will. - unsigned comment from Hamfart (talkcontribs)
Yes, per our signature policy your signature needs to use four tildes, not three. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 16:08, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
I never added 3 OR 4. I'll start today.--Hamfart 16:15, 10 March 2017 (UTC)

Signature

As per the signature policy, you need to link to your page in your signature. --Celadonkey 12:49, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

Allow me to remind you that the signature policy requires a link to either your user page or your talk page in your signature. This is kind of weird since your signature was apparently fine above, but I guess you've since changed it to remove the links. But you have to have that. Please fix it to comply again. Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:35, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
Okay. Usually the 4 tildes don't make the link to my userpage, for some reason, as you can see.--Hamfart 21:45, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
You must have customized your signature at one point in order to make it colored all the time above. (Unless you were just copying the same code or something every time.) Or at the very least once just to change the standard format and not use any links. Just change it back in your preferences. Tiddlywinks (talk) 22:43, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
Looks like your signature still has no links to your user or talk page. If you keep posting messages with linkless signatures, you'll eventually be blocked. The simplest way to fix it is by unticking the "Treat the above as wikicode" in the preferences page and your signature should become "Hamfart". You can even see a preview of your new signature after saving the changes in the same preferences page.--Den Zen 16:06, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
I think I might have an Idea of how.--Hamfart 16:20, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Talk pages

Don't create talk pages for casual conversations, talk pages are for suggesting improvements to the page. If you want to casually discuss things relevant to the episode, you can do so in the forums. Thank you.--ForceFire 12:55, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

Sprite boxes

Dude, if you ask a staff member about something and don't get a response in a certain amount of days, that isn't a license to go do it. The sprite boxes don't exist yet because the staff are the ones who have to implement them. Nobody but staff has permission to implement the sprite boxes. Cool it and be patient. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 04:34, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Sorry.--Hamfart 15:37, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Final warning

If you are impatient and "can't handle it", go find something else to do while the staff gets the template up. Don't be brash and just make the changes. If I see you being impatient again, I won't be so lenient.--ForceFire 02:24, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Apparently, they already made the templates last night.--Hamfart 11:05, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
I am aware. But this is your final warning on making brash decisions to make the template because of your own impatience.--ForceFire 11:58, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
Okay. ;)--Hamfart 12:03, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Adding sprite boxes

Are you just adding sprite boxes to random pages, or do you have some weird system/pattern that I can't figure out? I ask because typically, when we have to edit something across most or all Pokemon pages, we try to stick to a pattern (doing everything in numerical order, for instance), so no pages are accidentally overlooked. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 14:18, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

I just find it natural for me to make my own order on the site. So, since the templates are FINALLY up, I thought I should add them to the correct pages. I'd let someone else add Groudon's sprites and Palkia's sprites instead, since I hate Groudon and Palkia.--Hamfart 14:23, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
I've added sprites to them. Just wondering, do you just not want them in your watchlist or do you not want to edit specifically those two pages? Because you can choose not to watch a page when you edit them. --Celadonkey 15:02, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
Hamfart, please don't make a random order because "you don't like certain Pokémon". If you're going to do something like this, do it properly. Pick a generation and do every single Pokémon. Don't skip because of stupid, petty reasons. Thank you.--ForceFire 15:46, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
No offense, but honestly, there was no reason to be rude like that. He doesn't know any better, and it really doesn't help when there are cases of staff doing a similar thing. --Celadonkey 17:01, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
I'm right here, Celadonkey. So what if I don't know any better? I'm 15! BTW, I'm going to stick with Gen. III until it's done.--Hamfart 17:23, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
I was supporting you...You didn't know any better, so you shouldn't have been yelled at for what you did. --Celadonkey 17:26, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

New cards

Thank you for adding newly revealed cards to pages, but please don't make a page for a new card if you don't know what the card text is. When someone who does comes along, they're liable to see the link on the set page is blue and assume someone's already done it. And a card being in a Japanese expansion that's equivalent to an English one doesn't guarantee the card will be in the English expansion; they could possibly be made into a promo or put in another product like a Trainer Kit. Also, don't take translations from PokéBeach; his translations are spotty and if he doesn't give permission, it's stealing. glikglak 16:35, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

Crimson Invasion

Hi. I see that you have created the Crimson Invasion article without adding any information. Please do not do this in the future. If there's no card revealed yet, please do not create the page, especially if you are NOT adding anything in it, leaving only the template itself. You can't be creating the page but waiting for someone to fill in the information for you. I have already type out the whole article, but upon knowing that I am unclear of which expansion Feebas (which was revealed) belongs to, I halted. So in the future, please at least create the article with the standard expansion information, but it would be better to wait until 1 card is revealed. Thanks. — Ruixiang95 23:32, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

Informing you early. Please DO NOT create the page for SM5: Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon until at least 1 card is revealed. Do not create the page with the template only and leaving all other information empty. — Ruixiang95 14:29, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

Return

It's great to be back after not speaking to anyone here. --Hamfart
