A Pincher using the Control Gauntlets in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs (Part One)

Control Gauntlets (Japanese: あやつりのコテ Control Gauntlet) are used by the Pokémon Pinchers to capture Pokémon in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs. They replace the Super Stylers used in the first game and the Gigaremo and Miniremo units used in Shadows of Almia as a tool for the antagonists. They take time to capture a Pokémon, so it is possible for the connection can be cut off before the process is complete, as shown when two Pinchers are cut off from pinching Ukulele Pichu in the game. If they are operated without interruption, they capture Pokémon and store them without the use of a Poké Ball, which is a unique feature of the control gauntlets. They are used to communicate feelings of hatred to Pokémon, while the Capture Styler is used to communicate friendship.

Multiple Control Gauntlets are often used when a Pokémon is very powerful, such as a Legendary. They can also be used to show Ranger Signs on old monuments.

They also share similarities to the armor used by the temple guardians in the past.
