Release information
This card was included in the Team Rocket expansion with artwork by Shin-ichi Yoshida, first released in the Japanese Rocket Gang expansion. A promotional print featuring different artwork by Ken Sugimori was available as an insert with the third volume of Pokémon Card Fan Club, released November 18, 1997. This print features the Rocket Gang expansion symbol and has Giovanni in the illustration. It was reprinted as a Wizards Black Star Promo, with Giovanni removed from the artwork, and released as an insert with the August 2000 issue of Nintendo Power magazine. A number of the prints of this card were printed without HP. Most of these error cards were destroyed, but some of them saw release. The Team Rocket print was reprinted in the Legendary Collection as a Holofoil card.

Trivia
- The Nintendo Power insert erroneously states that Dark Persian is a Basic Pokémon.
- The Japanese version of the Wizards of the Coast promotional print has the face of Giovanni as the background image instead of a holographic pattern.
Origin
Fascinate and Tempt's Japanese names are that of Captivate, a move later introduced in the Generation IV Pokémon games that Persian can learn.
