Can anyone help?

OK this entire article is very confusing and has left me with several questions. Firstly, how many incarnations of Amber were there? two or three? (including the original) Because it says in the article that Amber died as Mewtwo destroyed the Lab but I've watched the birth of Mewtwo about three times on youtube and Ambertwo quite clearly dies while communicating with young Mewtwo. Unless there was another inacrnation of Amber.

Also, whats with the pic of Amber Fuji in the article? Is that from some special animation or whatever which I have missed or what?

That brings me to my third point, how many animatons are there? Like I said I've watched the birth of Mewtwo on youtube but the article implies that from the special movie (mewtwo returns) there is another special animation can someone answer this for me, please? Wikid 22:29, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Um, she has appeared as a speaking character in the anime, just not the American version. 4Kids wanted to make Mewtwo seem more evil, so they cut out the intro containing Ai/Amber which made him a more sympathetic character.

It's not that they cut it out, it wasn't there in the original Japanese theatrical run either. That's what I gather anyway. - 振霖T 01:08, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, I've seen Mewtwo Returns, and the Dub of the Movie features the Birth of Mewtwo short, including "Ambertwo". She does speak. She says one of the best lines in the entire series.--PikamasterADV 04:37, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

If you check out Youtube there is the american version of the cut and its adds a hell of a lot of depth to the story --Itxi 22:56, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

It was cut. Amber appears as a speaking character in the first fifteen minutes of the first Pokémon film in its Japanese version, known as Myuutsuu no Gyakushuu. The film was released in Japan with a PG13 rating, as the original dialogues were a lot deeper and the appearance of Amber as a human clone and her death were considered unsuitable for a younger audience. The original aim of the director was to create a good and meaningful animation film, that could help audiences to understand how Pokémon was not "kid stuff". This aim was reached only in the Japanese version, as 4Kids just cut out the piece with Amber and made the dialogues a lot less deep, in order to make this film more kids-friendly - the exact opposite of the director's idea. The piece with Amber was later dubbed and added as a special content in Mewtwo Returns; the dialogues were translated almost perfectly. Here are her best dialogues with Mewtwo. They could be added.

- Mewtwo: Who are you?
- Ambertwo: What do you mean? I'm a girl! A person!
- Mewtwo: A person? Am I a person?
- Ambertwo: Well, you look like a Pokémon, but you talk! I didn't know a Pokémon could talk like a person!
- Mewtwo: Pokémon? Person? What are those? Which one am I?
- Ambertwo: Maybe it makes a difference to you whether you're a Pokémon or a person but not to me. If you're in this place, I guess you must be the same as all of us are.

- Mewtwo: I feel...something... What are...these?
- Ambertwo: They're tears. You're crying.
- Mewtwo: Crying?
- Ambertwo: My daddy used to tell me a bedtime story, that when Pokémon are sad, and they cry, their tears are filled with life.
- Mewtwo: I'm so...sad...
- Ambertwo: I have to go.
- Mewtwo: WHY?
- Ambertwo: I don't know. But it's alright. Thank you for caring about me. And don't cry Mewtwo, you should be happy! You're alive, and life is wonderful...

One more thing: Fuji doesn't actually tries to clone Amber again in the animation featurette, as he, when Ambertwo dies, shouts "My Amber is gone forever!". But he does in the Radio Drama, and that deeply upsets Mewtwo, whose comment to Fuji's willing to reclone Amber is "Why? It was one Amber who speaked to me". --Rosy Crystal 17:21, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Rename

If she's Dr. Fuji's daughter, that makes her Amber Fuji, right? Wouldn't it make sense to move it?

Well techincally she's about three people from what I can gather, Amber, Ambertwo and potentially Amberthree. But yes all of their last names are fuji so it would make sense to move it. Though, 'd make it so that Ambertwo redirects here.

The Origin of Mewtwo

What is the link that leads to the prequel of the 1st movie? The one with Amber, Mewtwo, and the starter Kanto clones? If you don't know what I'm talking about, the link is here: http://serebii.net/movies/mewtwo/origin/. ht14 22:12, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Anyone know what I'm talking about? ht14 14:21, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
That's just a part of Mewtwo Strikes Back that was cut from the English version. It was later included along with The Return of Mewtwo DVD release. But it's not an independent short, it's actually scenes from Movie 1. Therefore, it doesn't have it's own page. That answer your question? Satosuke 04:54, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Japanese Name Meaning

Just sort of throwing this out there, but her name in Japanese means love and I was wondering if it was meant noting anywhere. - JWhitt 13:29, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

On the same matter, her name, アイ, is translated as Ai, not "I", and unless a source specifically states her name a "I", it should be changed. Yes, they're pronounced the same, but Ai is an actual name, while I is not. If there's a source that displays her name as "I", then it would be great to share it, else that's a bad translation and needs fixed. That goes with the movie page as well. --Kiomadoushi (talk) 23:49, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
Please don't respond to talk page messages older than 6 months old. Also, it seems you haven't bothered to read the article. As it clearly states, "Her Japanese name is directly based on the English first-person singular personal pronoun I, as explained by Takeshi Shudō in a blog post of his authority." Reason of Death

I always wanted to know, why Amber/Ai died in first place? It was never clear to me, does anyone have a hint? Does anyone never mentioned at all? I dont know if she had any disease problem, i thought it couldnt be a fever too, since it can be treated at the hospital, so my hint is that was an accident, but what kind of accident? I would like a an answer of what really happened but if not possible, opinions?Robin Maximo (talk) 08:52, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

The original? The radio drama had her die in a car accident, I believe. Frugali (talk) 10:36, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply, but if really was in the radio drama, then i think its official, not an speculation, so i propose a poll to put in the page, what do you think?Robin Maximo (talk) 06:15, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Voice Actress Source?

I brought this up in Mewtwo's talk page concerning his child version's actor, but I'll ask here as well: what's the official source that says Kerry Williams is really the English voice of Amber? Because it honestly sounds more like Amy Birnbaum, and as there are no credits for the short, her actress should probably be listed as unknown just like baby Mewtwo's actor is. Shift (talk) 05:30, 19 January 2019 (UTC)

The info was unsourced so I removed it. As I said on Mewtwo's talk page, "sounding alike" is not good enough. Other voice actors can make similar voices.--ForceFire 05:38, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
If that's the case, how can we justify trying to identify any minor roles from the 4Kids era, when the cast list of each season was one big list of names that didn't even include every actor? I can tell you right now, for example, that Destiny Deoxys' credits have no proof of Sebastian Arcelus or Sean Schemmel or Rebecca Honig or even Lee Quick as Officer Jenny, so why are they listed if not because of people recognizing them? Should those roles be marked "Unknown" for fairness' sake, as well? Shift (talk) 06:50, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
Lee Quick has a website with voice clips which includes Officer Jenny, so that one is confirmed. --HoennMaster 07:41, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
Most of the 4kids era stuff was most likely added when the wiki just started and way before we became strict on voice actor information. You can confirm voice actors by asking them directly on any social media platform (if they have any) or emailing them. Some might have their own site that lists their roles.--ForceFire 08:33, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
The rules have got to be fair across the board. According to your interpretation of the rules, we've gotta delete Lee Quick as Jenny from M07's page because it could potentially be a sound alike for that particular Jenny. Can't list Sebastian Arcelus as Rafe because it could just be someone else who coincidentally sounds like him. Can no longer list anyone in any additional role unless we get it straight from them on social media. I'd like to know where this crazy policy is written up so I can properly contest it. I've taken this issue up on the forum, if you want to share you POV there: https://forums.bulbagarden.net/index.php?threads/not-allowed-to-add-or-edit-voice-actor-credits.267081/ Shift (talk) 21:05, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
