Brock's Comfey (Japanese: タケシのキュワワー Takeshi's Cuwawa) was the only Pokémon that Brock obtained in the Alola region, and his eleventh overall, having received it as a gift from Nurse Joy.
History
Brock was given Comfey from the Melemele Island Nurse Joy as thanks for his help at the Pokémon Center in Alola, Alola!. It was first used in Heart of Fire! Heart of Stone! in order to help calm down an angry Kangaskhan mother that was protecting her injured baby by using an aroma. Comfey then helped Brock treat the injured baby Kangaskhan, handing him medicine and bandages.
Personality and characteristics
As with all of its species, Comfey has been shown to be kind and caring, as well as able to calm down angry Pokémon. Comfey has a good amount of skill dealing with injured Pokémon, helping both Brock and Nurse Joy treat injured and upset Pokémon.
Trivia
- Comfey is the only Pokémon belonging to a main character whose capture was not revealed in the episode it was obtained in.
- Comfey is the only known Pokémon Brock has obtained since he stopped traveling with Ash.
- Comfey is Brock's only Pokémon who has no evolutionary family.
- Comfey is the second of Brock's Pokémon to be tied to the medical field and Nurse Joy, after Chansey.
