The Crown Tundra (Japanese: 冠の雪原 The Snowfield of the Crown) is the second expansion in the Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass. Featuring the Crown Tundra, the theme of the expansion is "exploration". It will be released in the Northern Hemisphere fall 2020.

It will be preceded by The Isle of Armor.

New Pokémon and forms

The Legendary Pokémon Calyrex will debut in The Crown Tundra.

Galarian Slowpoke can be evolved into Galarian Slowking using an item found in the Crown Tundra.

Five other new Legendary Pokémon have also been revealed. Two of these Pokémon appear to be Legendary titans, while the other three resemble Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, possibly being regional forms of the birds.

Over 100 old Pokémon will become available in Pokémon Sword and Shield with the release of The Crown Tundra. These include:

Legendary Pokémon Dens

Many Legendary Pokémon from the past can be encountered as Dynamax Pokémon and caught while the player is exploring underneath Pokémon Dens.

They include Mewtwo, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Latias, Latios, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Dialga, Palkia, Heatran, Giratina, Cresselia, Tornadus, Thundurus, Reshiram, Zekrom, Landorus, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, Tapu Fini, Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma.

Customization

The protagonist can wear exploration gear and new fashion items will also be available.

Co-op play mode

Players will be able to explore Pokémon Dens to find Legendary Pokémon from previous core series games.
