I have an associate of arts degree in journalism from North Idaho College which I earned in May 2007. I am now a student at the University of Idaho pursuing a bachelor of science degree in the same field with a minor in political science. At NIC, I was the news editor of the college's national award-winning student newspaper, The Sentinel. There I received the Idaho Press Club's first place award for student news reporting in 2006; the same story placed third in the five-state Society of Professional Journalists Region 10 student competition that year. Currently, I write a weekly opinion column and draw editorial cartoons for UI's student newspaper, The Argonaut.
I am a liberal, an atheist, and a vegetarian. I have issues with anxiety. I am an animal lover (not literally!). I have a cat (adopted off the street), nine fishes, and two dogs, both border collies. I am a huge fan of sarcasm, dark humor, and pranks. I read a lot of nonfiction and am particularly interested in technology and Internet culture.
I have been a fan of Pokémon since 1998. I was previously a shipping forum moderator at TRHQ, where my username was rgmusashi (rocket gang musashi). I still use this name on LiveJournal. "Argy" is the pronunciation of the individual letters "rg," which most people called me.
I have not seen a number Orange Islands or Johto episodes because I temporarily lost some interest in Pokémon during that time period (partially because I had trouble accessing the episodes), so I'm afraid I can't be of much assistance when it comes to writing about that saga. However, I have seen all of pre-Orange Islands Kanto, every episode of the Advanced Generation series, every episode of the Diamond & Pearl series, and every Pokémon movie.
Beginning with Advanced Generation, I no longer watch the English-language dub of the anime, choosing instead to view the original Japanese version. I am much more familiar with the Japanese names, voices, and personalities of many characters, so I use them by default unless I am writing an article for Bulbapedia or Bulbanews that is not related to the Japanese version. I do, however, know all the English names of the Pokémon and main human characters, so don't be afraid to use them when communicating with me.
I have a beginner level of Japanese, but more than the average English-speaking Pokémon fan. I can read and write katakana and read hiragana without assistance. However, my beginner's vocabulary, lack of familiarity with kanji, and underdeveloped grammar skills limit my communication of the language.
I have a small but growing collection of Pokémon plushes, most of which are Poké Dolls. My current PokéDolls are Lucario, Jukain, Manene, Sonans, Naetle, Pochama, and Gonbe. Other plushes are two Mizugorou, two Kimori (one generic and one of Satoshi's), Heigani, Hassboh, and a Gureggru whose cheeks light up.
Feel free to use my talk page to ask any questions or make any suggestions. Thanks.
