Flashback?

Just because this episode is set in the past doesn’t make it a flashback. The story sets its own present and is followed. That’s like saying all prequels are flashbacks--KnightGalarie (talk) 04:36, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Name

Why JN instead of SS? 333-blue 03:02, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

JN was adopted as the final epcode after the dub name for the series (Pokémon Journeys) was revealed. It's more official than abbreviating "Sword and Shield", which hasn't been used in either language. The Great Butler (talk) 05:41, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

How do we know for sure the Pichu is the same as Ash's Pikachu?

How do we know for sure the Pichu is the same as Ash's Pikachu? Like, how do we know they're 1 & the same, as opposed to just a different Pichu? ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 20:58, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

We literally see a transition from Pichu evolving then switching to Ash's first meeting with it. They promoted the episode so much on the sole idea that it is about when Ash's Pikachu was a Pichu. Even the UK Pokemon YouTube channel's summary for the episode says:
Tune in for episode one of Pokémon Journeys: The Series, starting with Ash and Pikachu—before they became partners. Follow along as Pichu (who will eventually evolve into a familiar Pikachu) encounters a group of Kangaskhan, the mythical Mew, and more adventures!.
I honestly don't think that I have to go futher into this to explain why it's the same Pichu that evolves into Ash's Pikachu. AdilTalk page 21:32, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
It’s questions like this that make it hard to keep information on the site. Aside from them literally spelling it out what other proof is needed to confirm this?--Pikablu (talk) 21:48, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
That's all I needed to know. Thanks. ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 22:31, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
