The Illumina phenomenon (Japanese: イルミナ現象 Illumina phenomenon) is a phenomenon that occurs in the Lental region. It debuted in and is likely exclusive to New Pokémon Snap. The phenomenon plays an important role the the story.

How it works

When a Pokémon eats a Crystabloom or is hit by an Illumina orb, it turns into an Illumina Pokémon. It seems to work similarly to energy.

Appearance

When a Pokémon turns into an Illumina, it retains its normal appearance, but there is a bright glowing aura around it.
