Kaili (Japanese: カイリ Kairi) is a character of the day who appeared in On Land, In the Sea, and to the Future!. He is a pro surfer and a friend of Chrysa who went to the same university as her.

Kaili and his Vaporeon participated in the adult division of the Marine Athletics Race and won. After getting in contact with Chrysa, he met up with Ash, Goh, and Chloe when they arrived in Lilycove City. Kaili showed them around the course and watched the next day as they competed in the kids division of the Marine Athletics Race with their Dracovish, Dewgong, and Eevee.

When Chloe became trapped in a rock with Eevee and Dewgong having been attacked by a Huntail, Kaili came to her aid with Vaporeon and Huntail was soon defeated. Afterwards, Kaili gave Chloe a Water Stone so that she could evolve Eevee. Although Eevee did not want to evolve at that moment, Chloe decided to keep the Water Stone for potential future use.

Pokémon

Eevee → Vaporeon

Vaporeon is Kaili's only known Pokémon that has been his Pokémon since he was an Eevee. Kaili decided to evolve Eevee into Vaporeon after he showed a lot of interest in surfing.

Vaporeon was first seen competing in the Marine Athletics Race, where he won. When Chloe became trapped by a Huntail, Vaporeon was able to defeat it alongside Eevee.

Vaporeon's known moves are Swift and Hydro Pump. Vaporeon is confirmed to be male by gender differences as an Eevee.
