Talk:Raticate (Pokémon)
Japanese name
Why is the Japanese name translated to 'Ratta' in one place and 'Ketsuban' in another? The katakana translates correctly to 'Ratta'. InsomniacHonchkrow 03:48, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Ketsuban must be the default for the template. It seems that the admin that updated the infobox forgot to put the $ on the tmname parameter. . . and the page is still protected. . . Werdnae (talk) 03:56, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Trivia
Should it be mentioned in the trivia that Raticate is the only pokemon with a base stat total of 413? Or is it addressed elsewhere? ☆Pandagasms☆
1st Generation Catch Rate
This website (The Cave of Dragonflies "Gen I Capture Mechanics") revealed that Raticate has a catch rate of 90 in RBY only. It also mentioned that Dragonair and Dragonite have a catch rate of 27 and 9 respectively in Yellow Version only. How should we go about this? --Mazion (talk) 04:22, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Raticate M/F sprite difference in HG/SS
I'm not referring to the whiskers, but what appears to be a tiny goof only an OCD weirdo like me would notice! When compared to the female sprite, male Raticate in HG/SS have an extra gray pixel in the sclera at the corner of their eye. This is the most trivial of trivia, but hey, now the internet will never forget that someone noticed? I'll be going now. Gamescook (talk) 20:20, 23 September 2014 (UTC)
Impossible Raticate
Should it be added that there's a Raticate level 17 (an impossible level) with a Youngster on Route 11 in RB (not sure about Yellow though, but probably too) Jackoul (talk) 17:25, 5 March 2015 (UTC) Jack
- They aren't the only trainers in Gen 1 that have raticate's that are below lv 20. As team rocket members also have low level ratticates as well. --MartinGolding96 (talk) 16:10, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
Origin Misinfo?
The Origin says Raticate has webbed feet? I don't see any webbing.Yamitora1 (talk) 19:31, 6 September 2016 (UTC)

Shortening the evolution method differences
"In Alola, Raticate has a dual-type Dark/Normal regional form. In Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon, it evolves from Alolan Rattata when leveled up at night starting at level 20. In Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, it evolves from Alolan Rattata starting at level 20." is currently the quote from the article.
Would it not be better to shorten it to "In Alola, Raticate has a dual-type Dark/Normal regional form. It evolves from Alolan Rattata when leveled up at night starting at level 20SMUSUM/when leveled up starting at level 20PE."? The current version is quite wordy, and would be subject to more wordy-ness if future games were released with the LGPE version of its evolution. The wording of other such articles like Persian, Meowth, Rattata, etc. could also be tweaked similarly. This is just an idea, thank you for reading :)
