Devolution

So here's a question before the episode airs: do we officially label Ash as having Pichu due to the upcoming De-evolution of Pikachu for a bit? I mean I'd go for it, but I'm no mod.

It would probably be right, I think it will count as a catch. Then it becomes a kind of retcon.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 02:05, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
Won't count as a "capture", as it's not an entirely new Pokemon, it's still his Pikachu. And yes, the devolution would probably be noted.--ForceFire 07:48, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
So with Pichu, Dragonair, Dratini, Haunter, and Gastly listed here, does that mean this episode takes the slot of (I believe) episode 2 as the episode with Ash registering the most new Pokemon to his ownership (5)? --KrspaceT (talk) 13:32, 10 December 2021 (UTC)
If you mean different species, yes. But in terms of individual Pokémon, EP035 definitely still holds the record. And about the devolution--I'd mark them as "temporary" on his character page. Hope I helped! Champion Averie, signing off! (Need anything?) 00:58, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

Arceus

Is this episode the first appearance of Arceus in the main series? Don't remember him appearing in DP.- unsigned comment from Thenmark2 (talkcontribs)

Yes.--ForceFire 06:03, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
It has a whole movie that aired during Generation IV. And it was in a later movie during Generation VI. Champion Averie, signing off! (Need anything?) 15:48, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
They were asking if it was the first time Arceus has appeared in the main anime series' (i.e. not the movies or specials), which this episode does mark Arceus' main series appearance.--ForceFire 15:50, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
