Release information

This card was included in the English Phantom Forces expansion, first released in the Japanese Hyper Metal Chain Deck with artwork by match. It was reprinted with new artwork by the same illustrator and released as one of the XY Black Star Promos as the Prerelease promo for the English Phantom Forces expansion. A gold foil stamped "Staff" print was also given to those overseeing the event. The print originating from the Hyper Metal Chain Deck was later reprinted in the Japanese M Master Deck Build Box Speed Style, released on August 7, 2015.

The print originating as a XY Black Star Promo was later released in Japan as an unnumbered XY-P Promotional card, and was awarded to those who accumulated 3 Play Points by participating in various events held as part of Battle Festa 2015. Points could be earned in either of the two main events, the CoroCoro Challenge or the Victory Battle, or at eligible side events, including the Team Magma VS Team Aqua 3 on 3 Battle and the Organizer's Open Gym. 3 Play Points were awarded for participating in the CoroCoro Challenge and 2 Play Points were awarded for participating in the Victory Battle, the Team Magma VS Team Aqua 3 on 3 Battle, or the Organizer's Open Gym. 5 Play Points were awarded for advancing to the 'Climax Stage' of the CoroCoro Challenge, and 2 Play Points were awarded for each win for those competing in the Victory Battle. A further 5 Play Points were awarded to the top four players in both the morning and afternoon sessions of the Victory Battle. 2 Play Points were awarded for an individual win in the Team Magma VS Team Aqua 3 on 3 Battle, with a further bonus 5 Play Points awarded if all players on a single team won a match. 5 Play Points were also awarded to those who placed first in the Organizer's Open Gym, as well as 4 Play Points to those who placed second, and 3 Play Points to those who placed third.

Battle Festa 2015 was held at four locations across Japan: Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Exhibition Hall, Hiroshima on November 3, 2015; Pacifico Yokohama, Yokohama on November 7, 2015; Intex Osaka, Osaka on November 15, 2015; and Nagoya Trade & Industry Center, Nagoya on November 29, 2015. This print was also awarded to the top 3 competitors in Battle Festa 2015 Satellite Gym Battle events, held concurrently with Battle Festa 2015 at participating Pokémon Gym venues across Japan. This print features the Battle Festa 2015 logo on the artwork.

The Hyper Metal Chain Deck print was later reprinted in Japan as a Mirror Reverse Holo in the Premium Champion Pack and as a Non Holo in The Best of XY subset.
