Two Pikmin-based wikis join NIWA

Pikmin Fanon, formerly known as Pikcanon-NOT, is a Pikmin fanon based wiki that is a member of the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance. It was founded on the wiki farm Wikia on November 1, 2008, by Rocky0718.

Goal

The purpose of Pikmin Fanon is to give Pikmin fans a spot to document their fan ideas as if they were real. These range from ideas about specific enemies or mechanics to entire games!

History

Founded by Rocky0718 on November 1, 2008, on Wikia, the wiki stayed there for a point of almost two years. On September 14, 2010, the wiki moved to its current domain with the help of Super Mario Wiki head Porplemontage. The wiki also persuaded Pikipedia to move to the same domain, with Pikmin Fanon taking a different spot on it. It joined the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance on October 8, 2010.

In 2020, Pikmin Fanon was announced to be closed on September 1 so that Porplemontage can focus on the other Wikis including Pikipedia, Super Mario Wiki, and SmashWiki; however, on August 31, the head of WikiBound (Tacopill) has announced that Porple has handed the Wiki over to him, with the wiki being hosted by Grifkuba. Two years later on October 29, 2022, Pikmin Fanon changed host again, this time being independently hosted.
