Duplicate of the breeding section to learn this move. Erased for redundancy.

It's not redundant. That's for Gen IV. TTEchidna 05:55, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

The Japanese Reference

Is it worth noting that the Gen. III games emphasize the "Blunt Strike" reference? I was thinking this:

The fact of False Swipe's Japanese name, "Blunt Strike", being a reference to striking with the blunt side of a sword is emphasized in the Generation III games. This is because the "slash" mark appears, then moves to the side.

Whatcha think? SharKing ((Talk to the King!)) 22:13, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Shedinja

This atack would not work with Shedinja... - unsigned comment from Ferreronis (talkcontribs)

Yes. And? Werdnae (talk) 00:57, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

What with the Manga section.

I don't think the picture on the manga section is what should be their I would do something but I don't no much about the templates used on this site. - unsigned comment from Ovidkid (talkcontribs)

That's what happens when people don't check what uses the image before uploading a new version. Fixed now. Werdnae (talk) 04:52, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Anime error

This move was used in the Amine only once and it was like "Finish it up with Fasle Swipe!" '-' - unsigned comment from Dominikololo (talkcontribs)

Yes, this has been noted on the episode page where the error occurred. --Pokemaster97 17:48, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

False Swipe (Z-Move)

Don't know it this is a glitch or supposed to happen but I notice False Swipe, if used as a Z-move, was not a restrained attack. So I added; "If used as a Z-move, False Swipe can leave the target with less than 1 HP thus causing it to faint." - unsigned comment from Squarefist (talkcontribs)

Status Z-Moves are the only ones that keep the same or similar effects to the base move. All damaging Z-Moves don't take into consideration the base move's effects whatsoever (besides type and base power). Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 00:36, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
What Pumpkinking said is why I reverted that edit. Breakneck Blitz and False Swipe are two different moves--you shouldn't expect them to have the same effect. --Felthry (F.K.A. Xolroc) (talk) 00:43, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

Can False Swipe get STAB?

Just wondering, cause it would be pretty much useless anyways. PickleTyphlosion (talk) 17:25, 15 January 2018 (UTC) PickleTyphlosion

Yes. Why wouldn't it? Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 17:31, 15 January 2018 (UTC)

Table Formatting for 4-digit Dex Numbers

I understand this is probably more of a site-wide formatting change, but for the Learned By TM List, Iron Valiant and Chien-Pao, only the first three digits of their National Dex Number are displayed in the table. I'm not too familiar with modifying table properties, and more than likely some change will need to be made to the general formatting template, but as of right now this is an issue on this page. I am merely posting this to bring attention to it when a solution is found and if that solution needs application on a case by case basis. Lavince ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (talk) 10:55, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
