The Vato region is a region of the Pokémon world. It can be accessed west of Sinnoh from the Gemma Desert. It is inspired by a part of Europe. Professor Donne offers Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott, the same as the Unova starters, to people starting their journey in this region.

Etymology and design concept

Etymology

The Vato region's name come from "va" in valuable and "to" from Kanto and Johto.

Design concept

The Vato region is based on an area in Europe, flipped "to increase landmass", however it didn't.
