Could toadscool and toedscruel possibly take inspiration from Squibbon and Megasquid (future terrestrial squid evolutions) from "The Future is Wild" 2003 tv documentary series on speculative evolution, which I don't see being farfetched with a region full of past & future evolutions. They could be an example of convergent evolution (unrelated species evolving similar physiology) or they could still be closely related species that branched off, we've seen with regional forms that pokemon can take on different typings and physiologies. Even more so in Paldea where tera types can temporarily alter any pokemon's core typings. --Jasonz2z (talk) 09:41, 25 November 2022 (UTC)

The War of the Worlds references

Does anyone think Toedscruel may have been inspired by the sci-fi novel The War of the Worlds? Toedscruel has tentacles and a head/body combo like the Martians. Toedscruel also resembles the Martians' fighting machines or tripods which walk on tall and thin legs, have tentacles for grabbing, and a large central body.Robbie (talk) 14:52, 30 March 2023 (UTC)

Very likely not, Toedscruel is just a walking Tentacruel. It doesn't look that similar. CrazyPikmin (My Edits) 07:09, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
