Roy's grandfather is a supporting character who appears in the Pokémon Horizons: The Series.

History

Pre-series

Some time before the events of Pokémon Horizons: The Series, Roy's grandfather met Professor Friede and for unknown reasons, they got on bad terms. He also found the mysterious Poké Ball.

Pokémon Horizons: The Series

Roy's grandfather first appeared in HZ003, greeting his grandson in the morning, who was sweeping the front yard.

When Brave Asagi was forced to land on the island in HZ004, he was asked by Friede about materials to repair Brave Asagi but they were interrupted by another island resident which revealed that the Pokémon on the island were out of control. Friede then set out to try to solve this problem.

In the next night, when Roy infiltrated Brave Asagi, the group opted to take Roy back home the next morning. When they arrived at Roy's house, Friede and Liko found out that he was Roy's grandfather and despite the reception, he showed hospitable and called them to lunch. During lunch, he gave Friede and Liko, Pokémon inspired snacks, which inspired them to another way to fix the ship. When the Explorers attacked the Brave Asagi members, Friede left Liko in the care of Roy's grandfather, and Liko explained to them about her pendant for the two of them. When they saw the signs of battle, Liko and Roy left to seek help from the island's Pokémon, leaving him at home.

Character

As shown in HZ004, Roy's grandfather appears to be the leader of the small island, being consulted by the other villagers and by Friede.
