Release information
Original Series
This card was included in the Base Set with artwork by Keiji Kinebuchi, first released in the Japanese Expansion Pack. Prototype Pokémon Leagues were given the Trainer Deck B, which included this card, before the Base Set's official release. This print has a red border and "Trainer Deck B" printed on the back. Outside Japan, it was reprinted in the Base Set 2 expansion. This card was also featured in the Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Card GB2: Here Comes Team GR! for Game Boy Color.
Black & White Series
Computer Search was later included in the Boundaries Crossed expansion as an ACE SPEC Item card with updated artwork by Ryo Ueda, first released in the Japanese Cold Flare expansion.
Sun & Moon Series
In Japan, a Non Holofoil version of the Boundaries Crossed print was available in the Extra Regulation Box from October 4, 2019.
Sword & Shield Series
Similar to the Sun & Moon Series, another Non Holofoil version of the Boundaries Crossed print was released in Japan to promote the Extra Regulation format. Starting December 16, 2022, participating Pokémon Card Gym venues distributed Extra Battle Day Promo Card Packs to people competing in Extra Battle Day tournaments. One pack was given to each participant that won a game, while three packs were given to the overall winner of a tournament. One pack was also given to winners of rock paper scissors competitions.[1] Each pack contained one of ten S-P Promotional cards, which included this print. This print also features the Extra Battle Day logo in the bottom right corner.
Scarlet & Violet Series
This card was reprinted in Holofoil as an Item card with its original Base Set artwork in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic. This reprint lacks a regulation mark and is thus not legal for tournament play.

Trivia
Even though the Boundaries Crossed version is technically considered a reprint, the Base Set print cannot be substituted for it in sanctioned play. This is because the newer version has had a "major text change" (the ACE SPEC designation).
Origin
This card represents the concept of PC storage in the Pokémon games.
