Pokémon-GX
Pokémon CG Studio founded

Pokémon-GX is a mechanic created for the Pokémon TCG's Sun & Moon Series. "I was inspired by the Z-Moves of Pokémon Sun and Moon. I made each Pokémon have a GX attack, and adjusted it so that difficult decision-making would happen for players around timing their usage. (Atsushi Nagashima) (December 9, 2016)

We established the Pokémon CG Studio to improve the quality and quantity of Pokémon 3DCG production. "I wanted to have a team that supported the expansion and quality of the world of Pokémon, so I created a studio that focused on Pokémon." (Atsuko Ujiie) (June 26, 2017)

Release information

This card was included as a Regular card, a Full Art card, and as a Secret Rainbow Rare in the Guardians Rising expansion, first released in the Japanese Alolan Moonlight expansion, each with artwork by 5ban Graphics. The Regular print was reprinted in the Japanese GX Battle Boost subset and again in the Japanese GX Ultra Shiny subset. A new print with different artwork by the same artist was available as a Yellow A Alternate card in the North American Island Guardians GX Premium Collection and in the European Island Guardians GX Collection from November 2, 2018. A Jumbo version of this print was also included in both collections. The Yellow A Alternate art print was later also included in the Island Guardians GX Premium Pin Collection, sold exclusively at Target stores from November 6, 2018. This print was subsequently available in the Japanese Tag Team GX Premium Trainer Box. In Japan, a Non Holofoil version of the Regular print was later included in the Tag Team GX Deck Build Box and in both of the Tag Team GX Starter Sets. An entirely gold Full Art print with artwork also by 5ban Graphics was included in the Hidden Fates expansion, first released in the Japanese GX Ultra Shiny subset.

The Guardians Rising Regular print was rereleased in the Celebrations expansion's Classic Collection for the Pokémon 25th Anniversary. This print features the 25th Anniversary logo. In Japan, it was reprinted as part of the Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition with a red and gold "25th" logo. Both prints are Confetti Holofoil and have etching similar to Full Art cards.

This card was included in the Pokémon Card Game 25th Anniversary Creatures Deck, a commemorative Half Deck given to Creatures, Inc. illustrators and staff members to celebrate the Pokémon 25th Anniversary and the company's 26th. In this deck, this card represents the year 2017 of the company's history, and the back contains information about the inspiration for Pokémon-GX and the founding of Pokémon CG Studio. This card has a "25th" stamp next to the illustration, and keeps the original set symbol, rarity, and collection number.

In Japan, this card's Alolan Moonlight print was reprinted as one of the SV-P Promotional cards for Extra Battle Day on January 1st, 2024, and its stamp is shown on the card.
