Talk:Tsareena ex (TCG)
Deletion?
I don't think this list is noteworthy for an article; you may sometimes see it in TCG Live and the internet, but Tsaarena has literally no tournament usage (unless you're focusing on it as a budget deck) and YouTubers have a financial incentive to display any kind of deck even if it's not good. While there are no hard criterias for archetype articles I believe including "meme decks" is opening a can of worms for any list you see out there as a page.
Sure it can be a competitive deck later, but creating this article while Tsaarena is still in the Standard format in the first place is counting the eggs before they hatch. (This also goes for articles of current competitive decks, as you're going to create them with a bias of the current meta.) Pipefan (talk) 13:03, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
- I also see you there, pending United Wings article. Pipefan (talk) 13:09, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
- I created it because I do believe it's a meta deck archetype, though not top-tier, which is shown by a lack of tournament usage. I would like for this not to be deleted entirely, but could be moved back into my user space, at least temporarily. --Bfdifan2006 (talk) 23:43, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
- Although I do think that it's important to have some sort of vetted standards on what decks deserve articles, I think there is space on the wiki for content detailing synergy between cards released within the same set. It was something I experimented with on set pages at one point, but it was removed 8 years later for some reason. Maybe it would be worth bringing back as a possible solution here. - That sounds an awful lot like the Deck Tips on the official site. We could always give those sites articles and copy/paste their contents into Bulbapedia, which fills that void without much fuss. (Wouldn't be as complete, but I imagine adjudicating what counts/doesn't count as a synergy would be difficult.) Also, I think meme decks are kind of interesting and notable as weird deckbuilding quirks. Not competitive by any means, but donks with Fast Raid, and decks consisting of 80% Energy that are still functional and cheese out wins on ladder like Sandaconda and Aqua Storm Kyogre/Reshuffle Energy Volcarona merit coverage. If enough people care enough to write "How to build deck" content, then it's kind of notable. If there must be a rule, maybe it could be "X amount of coverage from different sources, where Youtube content counts for 0.3 instead of 1"? Salmancer (talk) 15:05, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
