Shield Energy (Japanese: シールドエネルギー Shield Energy) is a Special Energy card. It was first released as part of the Primal Clash expansion.

Card text

All prints
This card can only be attached to Metal Pokémon. This card provides Metal Energy only while this card is attached to a Metal Pokémon.

The attacks of your opponent's Pokémon do 10 less damage to the Metal Pokémon this card is attached to (before applying Weakness and Resistance).

(If this card is attached to anything other than a Metal Pokémon, discard this card.)


Release information

This card was included in the Primal Clash expansion, first released in the Japanese Gaia Volcano expansion. In Japan, it was reprinted in the M Master Deck Build Box Speed Style released August 7, 2015. It was reprinted again in Japan in The Best of XY subset.

Trivia

  • This card later received an erratum to change its damage reduction effect to apply after applying Weakness and Resistance. The entire effect was rephrased as "Any damage done to the Metal Pokémon this card is attached to by an opponent's attack is reduced by 10 (after applying Weakness and Resistance)."
  • This card is extremely similar in functionality to the original Metal Energy.
