Damage

I know that you "fixed" the damage on this move but... I have read some sites that say that the damage of this move is only 30. Is this true? If you want I can give you a link. WereVolf5 16:31, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

I am going to change the fixed damage for this move back to 18 damage.Asian31 21:29, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Platinum Standard?

Hey, are these moves (Mystery Dungeon) showing up in the list of moves needing to be upgraded? Because I have a feeling the number saying how many we have left is slightly inaccurate if these are. --PAK Man Talk 04:52, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

If they aren't on the list of moves I didn't count 'em. Meaning that I did count Struggle. Otherwise, nope, not on the list to be updated... which is more a list of moves that were updated... TTEchidna 05:04, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

DAMAGE!!!!!!!!!!!

is cool to scream. Anyways, THIS!!! says it does either 16, 17, or 18 damage whilst ours says it only does 18/30 based on game. Which is right?? Because if ours is we could update that one to say that it does 30/18 due to game, if the opposite is true we could update ours to say that 16, 17, or 18/30 due to game.--Smartkidhen 23:37, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Well, from my use of the move in Explorers of sky, it always does 18. But without looking at the code, we can't sure. However I'd say that it's always 18. --SnorlaxMonster 12:25, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

I second that. Vacuum Cut does 18 damage and it doesn't matter what ability Asian31 20:23, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Future additions

I don't think much more could be done to this article. The most significant part of it has to be the 'dex' that appeared under the MD1 learnset, which I'm removing and replacing with the MD2 learnset to make it easier to read. It's more complicated than it has to be... --TruePikachu 02:55, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Incorrect Trivia

"This move originated as a TCG attack." - In name only. Blastwave Scroll (Japanese: しんくうぎりの巻物) from the Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer Series is the origin of this move. In an interview for Red and Blue Rescue Team, it was revealed that some Shiren mechanics were adapted into Pokémon moves. The unused move "Excavate" was most assuredly based on the weapon "Pickaxe", which isused to dig through walls in dungeons. It was most likely left unused, because the move Rock Smash serves that purpose in the final game. In general, many Pokémon characteristics in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon are re-skinned Shiren mechanics which may interest PMD enthusiasts. HaxAras (talk) 08:00, 9 June 2024 (UTC)

I modified the trivia to hopefully make it more indicative of what it was going for. I don't feel comfortable enough with the research above to write my own point on it, but if you wanted to add something to the page, I think it's good info. MaverickNate 14:46, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
I see what you mean. My co-admin mentioned an interview, and I'm sure I've seen one as well before, however, the link he provided seems to lack the info he claimed it did.HaxAras (talk) 06:50, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
Ahh, I wasn't indicating that there's a problem with the research. Just that I don't feel knowledgable enough to take what is written and put it into my own words for something for the page. Sorry for the mix up MaverickNate 06:53, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
Well, in all fairness, I didn't do my own research. I blindly trusted my co-admin. So, in that 'not-an-interview,-and-how-dare-anyone-call-it-that' page, they talk about turning Mystery Dungeon mechanics into gameplay that works with Pokémon. Status Conditions = Status moves such as Bind or Poison Powder, Arrows got turned into stones and spikes, Scrolls got turned into Wonder Orbs, and so on. Using a Ginseng on a move is the equivalent of raising a weapon or shield +1 in (Normal) Mystery Dungeon titles. It states "For example, how “arrows,” “scrolls,” and “ grass” are translated in the Pokémon world, and what kind of moves abilities such as "Yotou Kamaitachi" will appear in the game. There are also some interesting features for fans of both, such as the Hydro Pump +4." 妖刀かまいたち or Yoto Kamaitachi is a Shiren the Wanderer katana called 'Razor Wind', which you likely know as the move "Wide Slash". And the "Blastwave Scroll or Vacuum Slash Scroll was turned into the move, Vacuum-Cut, instead of an orb, like the other scrolls seemed to be. HaxAras (talk) 15:15, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
