Release information

This card was one of the SM Black Star Promos included in the Unbroken Bonds Single Pack Blisters released May 3, 2019. In Japan, it was released as one of the SM-P Promotional cards and was available as part of a Toys "R" Us GX Starter Deck purchase campaign. Starting July 13, 2018 for as long as stocks lasted, customers purchasing at least 1 GX Starter Deck at participating Toys "R" Us stores could draw a card from a lucky box. Possible cards included this card, a promotional reprint of Tauros-GX, or regular copies of Grass, Fire, Water, or Lightning Energy cards. The Toys "R" Us logo featured in the bottom right corner of the illustration.

In Japan, two more SM-P Promotional prints featuring the same artwork were available as part of the Lawson Summer Campaign, which began on August 2, 2019 in conjunction with the official release of the Dream League subset. For every five booster packs purchased in one transaction at participating Lawson stores, customers would receive a special pack containing 1 of 5 possible cards. The promotion ran for as long as stocks lasted. The print numbered 376/SM-P is Holofoil, while the print numbered 377/SM-P is Non Holofoil. These prints lack any additional logos.
