EnbySpaceSystem (talk) 06:10, 24 June 2024 (UTC) Thanks for the suggestion! Flew over my head while writing the first comment. After a bit of research, I've found a few similarities, although it's mainly in acquisition. They both appear in Summerland's Marine Challenge (Pokemon Ranger). They also both are commonly Super Rod Encounters, with a couple other instances of being encountered through an old rod, good rod, and surfing, but they don't commonly share an encounter table. Where they do share a location are: Pal Park (Sea), Black and White (Route 13), Black 2 and White 2 (Route 13, Undella Town, Humilau City), Dream World (Sparkling Sea), X and Y (Route 8), Pinball R&S (Ocean (Ruby Field)), Trozei! (Phobos Submarine, Mr. Who's Den), MD Red and Blue (Silver Trench* (Luvdisc is significantly further down than Staryu), Rumble Blast (Beach* (not the same area of Beach)), MD DX (Silver Trench* (Luvdisc is significantly further down than Staryu). They also both commonly hold high-value items to sell in Stardust/Star Pieces and Heart Scales, respectively. While I'm rattling off random similarities, they also both share a Base Defense of 55, a Power of 1 in Pokéathlon, a Defense of 2 and Speed of 3 in Pokémon Rumble Blast, Base Speed of 60 in Pokémon Rumble Rush, Attack Power of 1 star in Pokémon Battle Trozei, Attack Power and Enhancement Cost in Pokémon Shuffle, a Poké Assist in Pokémon Ranger and Field Move in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, a Fast Attack in Pokémon GO (Water Gun) In the anime, both Misty and Juan have at least one Staryu and Luvdisc. They also both appear in the Series Pokémon Journeys: The Series (manga) in the chapter Legend? Check! Friends? Check! Also, Staryu is one of 3 genderless Pokemon which can learn attract in gen II, and Luvdisc is very commonly associated with love. I haven't seen much of the anime or manga so I can't really speak to their interaction in those medias but I think the connection may be a common catch method, as they do share a common encounter method in most mainline games.
